Well yesterday went as well as it could have!..
I was really poorly on Tuesday with a stomach bug which although awful did take my mind off of wednesday morning! I arrived early and was seen dead on 9.30am, the clerk looked over my paperwork there and then I wasn't taken into a side room (dont know if this would have been different if anyone else was around?) I had crossed out something I shouldn't have in the debtors petition which she ammended. She also questioned my income and expenditure- after spending DAYS on it and ringing up the insolvency service a couple of times, they had told me to write down my partners household contribution on the household income bit, but when it came to the expendtiture sheet to only write MY expenses. So she then queried why I was going bankrupt when it looked like we had a £800 surplus! (I wish!) So I had a stressfull couple of minutes having to think off the top of my head and alter the household budget, rent, totals etc. She then told us to go have a coffee and come back in 20 mins. Anyway when we returned I was given my certificate (worthy of framing lol?! Think the stress has frazzled my brain!) and was amazed to see it had been stamped about 2 minutes after we went for our coffee! So the whole process took 20 minutes! She then said the OR would ring me that day to make contact.
He rang me later on in the afternoon, was really friendly, quietly spoken and put me at ease. He just asked a couple of questions and then asked me my overview of the situation as he didn't have my paperwork. I babbled on a bit because I was nervous but he seemed satisfied with what I said and arranged to call me for my proper interview next Wednesday. I asked him about my bank account (theres no money in there but was concerned about my wages/direct debits etc) and he said as I had already set up a basic account with Barclays (and informed them of the impending bankruptcy) that was fine and would continue as normal.
I am glad I spoke to him yesterday as it has made me slightly less apprehensive of what is to come next week, although Im now worrying he has put me into a false sense of security and is really an ogre posing as a nice normal guy!!! Still panicking about my car and the possibility of an IPA...I dont know how I can get one when were broke every month but then a voice inside my head says dont count your chickens etc and I start stressing again...
Anyway sorry for rambling on but I know how I was feeling on Tuesday and I hope this can be of help to someone stressing as much as I have been. I feel a bit better although don't think I will feel like that 'weights' been lifted until after my interview. If he doesn't mention it do you think it would be ok to ask at the end if he thinks theres any chance of an IPA? Can't bare having to wait even longer to find out! Also when will he ask for any paperwork? I thought he would want it before the interview but I'm guessing it will be after now?
Well done if you have made it to the end of my post!
