Good morning all,
Very bright here today. The snow has almost gone now, thank goodness. It does look very pretty though.
Hubby is in bed as he has work tonight so i did the housework last night. Thats one less job to do today. Dd stayed at her bf's last night and other dd is at work. Lovely and peaceful, just me and the dog.
I have had quite a productive morning so far. Have made a sponge and have made chocolate butter icing ready to put on it when it is cool. Also made a weetabix cake. Swede, potato and red onion are bubbling away ready to made into soup for lunch. It smells lovely. Two loads of washing have been done and been sqeezed onto the airer.
Chicken curry for tea tonight.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning All
It rained here last night, but we still have snow on the ground at least the sun is shining
DH is at work and I have asked DS to sort all the stuff that needs going to the tip and they can run it straight up there when DH gets home.
Still feel like death warmed up so I will just potter and get some washing done today.
I need to make some more bits before I start an Etsy shop, it will be wise to have stuff sorted than have an empty shop  DD has been pushing me for months, so I am going to try to make a go of it. Looking at April to start up.
(((Hugs))) for Baxter and Islandmaid and family x
Oh well best get on

Good morning all
I think there was either wet snow or rain over night. But everything is thawing now, and green is returning.
Today brings ironing and eBaying, and chicken fajitas for lunch, yum.
Apart from that nothing much planned.

Morning
Early on here today, had little bit of lie in then got up to tackle jobs I have been putting off/not had time to do. SOme done so having a little break before I do some more.
Cold and bright here so washing on airer outside for a bit, dont expect it to dry but will be fresher. DW on, few bits washed up by hand, downstairs vacummed. Am now going to sort meal plan for week and bring BM in here as better results than cold kitchen. Must do ironing as pile is blocking signal from remote to tv!! Also want to sort some paperwork so can organise few other bits in the week to hopefully save bit more money.
NSD as not leaving the house, am aiming for at least 5 each week.
Judi my brother in law calls it council pop, I hadnt heard anyone else use that term before.
Lunch today will be nice warming soup and dinner is pasta with HM sauce.
JackieO my friend in Sydney has emailed about heat there, shame we cant send cool to them and get some heat back.

Afternoon All
Judi - we call it corporation wine!
JackieO - Good on Danny, hope he enjoys his cookery lesson.
Friends returning to Sydney this weekend - that'll be a shock to the system as they are in Yorkshire at the moment!!
It snowed all last night but this morning is a lot warmer and the sun is shining so hopefully a big thaw. Thought we had missed all the snow. Hope everyone is safe and well and not struggling with the weather too much.
Butterfly Brain - Good luck to DS and to you too, it will seem strange for a while but I'm sure he will visit for some of mum's cooking!
Been shopping this morning and hoovered round. Need to put a washing on and clean the bathrooms next. Helping out at a Burns Supper tonight (not my thing but brings in funds for the village hall). Going to visit a friend about an hour north tomorrow to deliver a bookcase I no longer need, hope the snow has cleared up there.
Take care and have a good weekend. XX0 -
Hi all,
Snowed last night, about 6 inches or more, the roads were bad when DS1 came home about 11,abandoned cars etc.DH is working today and had to shovel his way out of the drive which is long and uphill.I did a bit more shovelling after Leo had his walk,I'm kna(kered now:D
I'm waiting for DGD to arrive, hoping we can go & play:D Made curry last night, not sure about tonight yet.We had a power cut this morning while I was shovelling, thought I heard a few alarms going off but thought no more about it till the electric gate wouldn't work.I had to climb over into a small space between us and next doors walls, bit dodgy and def not a pretty sight-hope none of the neighbours spotted me:rotfl: Luckily we have a gas hob so I boiled a pan of water for a brew, needed one after all the snow shifting:D It was only off for just over an hour, though i've cranked up the heating in case it goes off again.
Hope everyone stays safe and warm xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Hi all
Thank you for your kind wishes about Baxter.
Vet was very good, we have to make 'the descision' - but vet gave him a shot of something to make him more comfortable, in essense we can spend a fortune on pills, potions, tests etc and the vet said she couldn,t say that would help or change the outcome, just keep him going a while longer. Have bought him home, and will speak with the kids later and back to vets on monday - horrible feeling, like his poor little life is in my hands....
I am incredably stressed at the moment, what with the possible redundancies at work, and the dog, kids are upset (obviously) and I am having the smile and carry on - I just want to press 'stop' for a few hours just so I can do nothing for a bit.
Anyhoo, on an OS positive, I have finally got £75 quidco cashback on an ISA I started a year ago, have 'invested' that into LED bulbs for the house.
Out for a meal tonight for DS1,s birthday (was on wednesday, but he works away), glad it wasn,t goodbye to Baxter today wouldn,t have felt like it.
Hope you all well, sorry to be a misery
Have a fab day all xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Islandmaid (((HUG))) It's never, ever an easy thing to do. I'm sure you'll do right by Baxter; in the meantime, I'll send him stay-comfortable vibes. My current guest, Megan, sends him a gentle doggy (((HUG))).If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
