Bdini - make sure you start as you mean to go on - get your lodger to do her own clearing up and make sure she treats your home with respect. If she can't afford to pay rent make sure you come to an agreement with her where she either contributes towards the food/leccy bill or pays her way in some other fashion, such as housework or cooking for you. Remember you are doing her a favour, she is living in your home, not a hotel with full waiter service. If you don't sort this stuff out right from the start it will cause so much stress to both of you and probably ruin your friendship.

Well Nargle beat me to what I was going to say. She actually sounds like my friends house mate who gets away with near murder.

Oh, and thanks for the tip about the lemons, it's something i thought about in the past (everything goes in the freezer in this house :rotfl:) but I've somehow procrastinated about doing it and they've become mummified lemons in the bottom draw :o Will get my bum in gear this time.

I'm nearly at target but getting online spendy urges atm - there were a pair of boots I saw when I was shopping a while ago but they only had the size down from what I norm take, and didn't have time to try them on. Ended up buying my normal size from fleabay thinking they'd be ok - but lots of reviews say they are generously sized and these feel a bit unsupportive even with innersoles, heel grips and two pairs of socks. Now they've got the smaller size online back in the sale, and I doubt they'll be about for long. So thinking of buying them. I can return if they are no better but in the long run I reckon I get more wear of out them than the ones I'm trying to make fit.....

Aww thanks guys it's nice to know i'm not being unreasonable!
I guess i have to remember that she has just come out of a 9 year abusive relationship & so will be all over the place, & i'm pretty sensitive too with everything that has been going on, but i have decided that this weekend will be a bit of a test.... I'm away refereeing mum & dad again, & she's supposed to be sorting out the details with the ex & picking up her clothes, so we'll see what the house is like & how much has been eaten etc when i get back....
Just going to get through granny's funeral next week, then i think the big money talk will happen, by then she should have sorted out her finances with regards to where she has left..... In the meantime, deep breath!!
