virgin media package advice needed

My bills are coming in most months between 40-50 pound, looking to reduce these, ive been with virgin media now for about 10 year, but prices getting higher all the time.eg of this months bill is

talk unlimited,tv size m,broadband size m 10 meg only £25.15
line rental £14.99
billing and payment fees £6.75
total £46.89
not happy with this price because its a lot of money for 10 meg that buffers must of the time, throttling issues going down to 2.5 meg
the tv box isn't connected because hasn't been for about 2 year as i only watch my freeview on my tv,
and the phone is only used light.
ive read a few posts and people are getting much better deals, so advice needed, all im looking for is broadband and phone, which company virgin or sky.
and what price should i be looking at .thanks for your time.

Your mad why have you been paying for TV and unlimited calls if you don't need them?

I've just got the standard phone and 30 meg broadband and it costs £28.90pm but I'm thinking of adding a Tivo to my package as its only an extra £3pm but they want £50 intall

the tv is supposed to be free anyway, dosn't show a price for the tv on the bill ,as for the phone when it is getting used, call costs where costing more then getting the talk unlimited

    Nothing is free with Virgin!
Tell them you want to remove the TV and see what they offer you for a broadband and phone bundle. I get Broadband L (they don't do M any more), which has just upgraded from 10Mb to 20Mb, talk unlimited and caller display for an £18.29 "bundle", excluding line rental.
You can pay your line rental 12 months in advance for £120, which reduces the effective monthly cost.
Not sure what your billing and payment fees are as I don't have any - I pay by DD and have paperless billing, so maybe that is why I'm not charged for that.

Hi, I currently have a virgin package of tv, broadband and telephone. It looks like i am tied into a 18 month contract. The tv is a xl package hd box with sports and one multiroom, weekend and evening calls and x amount of internet usage. we had the first 6 months for half price but My bill is now currently £90 a month which was fine until i got made redundant recently from my job. when explaining this to virgin they said that if i cut down on my deal it would void the current "special" deal therefore wouldnt be any cheaper.

If i could get some advice on this that would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

    £6.75 on billing and fees?!?!

Theres an instant saving there if you organise yourself a little better.

What advice are you looking for? You've been half price for 6 months and now they are only just making any money from you.

Its a contract, unfortunately there is very little you can do...

because you signed a contract committing to pay them X over a period of Y.

You have had the benefit of a half price deal, which they offset by the 12 months you should be paying full price, if they reduce that for you then they will never make any money whatsoever.

Not much more to say really...

There is. Cancel the TV contract, and sort out your payments (DD) so you don't get any additional billing fees. If you pay the latter every month, that's £81 pa down the drain.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
