Threatened with legal action after posting online review
Comments

I don't really trust online reviews, they can be easily manipulated.
It's difficult to form an opinion on this case, was the review defamatory, did you call them crooks, thieves, etc etc, or was it factual and objective?
I can see why you don't want to name and shame, but there is nothing to stop a 'new' member from a different computer and IP address to post about their own, similar experience...;)0 -
Please tell us you didn't use the word scam!0

Just a query - do we actually have such a right in the UK? We have no US-style bill of rights, so just wondering.
Its a basic human right. The human rights act is something we do have
Although perhaps worth mentioning that freedom of speech/expression isnt necessarily what people think it is. There are exceptions. Hate speech for example, is not covered (and this is where i've found most americans tend to get it wrong.....they think it entitles them to say whatever they want, it doesnt). You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
..I was told to not post anymore bad reviews, otherwise legal action will be taken.
I'd be interested to know just what this 'legal action' comprises seeing as, unless you've been libellous, there is no legal case to answer.
OP, you do realise these are just scare tactics don't you? Ignore them. You might like to name and shame too. I wouldn't want to buy goods from or use the services of a company that demonstrates such heavy-handed and threatening behaviour."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Check out Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights from the United Nations. IIRC, it guarantees freedom of expression in media, and the internet is a form of mediaJust a query - do we actually have such a right in the UK? We have no US-style bill of rights, so just wondering.

But you will find that posting on a forum or such site run bya 3rd party gives them the right to remove posts if they so wish.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
One good reason to use your own blog to post reviews.
I put a somewhat negative review of a product on my blog & over a year later it still ranks in the top 5 when you google 'rapid ice clear'.
Never been threatened with legal stuff yet.Never Knowingly Understood.
