depends how much u want to spend, mexico is better but comparing the 3 is like saying what car should i buy, BWM, VW or ford!

they arent 'like for like' hols in regards to cost
  • My vote would be Egypt, there is plenty to see.
Stay in the Hurghada area and you can visit Luxor, known as the greatest open air museum in the world. See the temples like the amazing Karnak and the visit the Valley of the Kings where the tombs are. Cairo and the Pyramids is just a short flight away too.
Whats the point in sitting on a plane for 10 hours for it to rain a few times when you are there when you can fly for 5 and guarantee the sun pretty much!
Add to that the amazing snorkelling in the Red Sea :)
And as for illness i've been ill once and i've been a lot. In fact, i have been more poorly when travelling to the Caribbean.

Obviously it depends on your budget but if you can afford it then it has to be Mexico. Been 3 times in total, twice to Cancun and once to Playacar and loved them both. There are so many sights to go and visit around those areas and also as a woman it was the place I felt the safest.
Also been to sharm el sheikh but wasn't much to do outside of hotel unless you travelled to naama bay either by taxi or hotel minibus.
Never fancied cape verde as others have said there is nothing to do outside of hotel grounds.
One other thing to bear in mind though is the time of year you are thinking of going as you really do not want to be in Mexico in hurricane season!!

As others have mentioned, depends on your budget.

I've always wanted to see ancient Egypt so really enjoyed it even though we were staying in Sharm. We did the day trip to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings and Karnak Temple are just amazing. The beach at our hotel was great, AMAZING snorkelling/diving (did boat trip to old ship wreck and had a snorkel around there). Food in our hotel was fab, but do your research as some others sound awful.

If you have a bit more to spend then Mexico does look great. It's on my list of places to visit :)
