Has anyone had any dealings with Mark Bates Insurance company?
I am considering taking out insurance with them but feel a bit put off by the fact that they operate under a multitude of different names.
Looking for an insurance quote online I found that so many companies offering online quotes under different names turn out to be run by Mark Bates, which seems an odd way to run your business.
Any input would be welcome.

Is there any reason that you don't want to stick with companies that you feel more confident about? Is it just price?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

No, I'm actually looking for insurance for my mobility scooter and every company I've found in internet searches turns out to be Mark Bates but under a different name, which seems odd.0 -

I'd look for a local Insurance Broker - one with an office in town where you walk in and stand at the counter. They'll do you any sort of insurance you like - they organise quotes from the biggest companies (not high street names, but big insurance giants like Zurich) and sort out all the paperwork.I am the Cat who walks alone0

They say they are FSA registered. But they have been ringing me daily trying to rush me into taking out their insurance. It's not compulsory so I have no intention of being rushed.0 -

It seems perfectly normal these days for insurances to have many names.
Not sure why but even direct line who 'don't advertise on comparrsion sites to keep costs down' have a sister insurance that does advertise on comparrison sites...*rolls eyes*People don't know what they want until you show them.0
