Does anyone else call a clothes airer a clothes horse?:)

They have always been a clothes horse to me and we still have one of the proper wooden ones (inherited) that I alway remember covering with an old sheet as kid to make a play tent:).

It always seemed cold in the house on washing day as the clothes horse, loaded with washing, was in front of the coal fire all day blocking out any heat to the room:rotfl::rotfl:

    Evening all just catching up:)

I got the sada inquisition in A (Portr+ck) trying to use a £14.39 apg today. SA said she would have to get it checked with a supervisor as it was over 14. Unfortunately it was a supervisor that had previously refused one without any grounds for doing so (making up the rules again:mad:) Said it would have to be investigated and I'd have to wait 5 or 10 minutes so they could check it on the system.
Most of the stuff was non glitchy to get the APG but there were a few glitchy Doves on it. Came back and said that there had been a fault with the system to give such a high APG and I wasn't entitled to it but they would let it go this once as the system was now fixed but any more would be refused:eek:.

Why didn't you come and say hello tonight in T as I was there again waiting with "the mob":rotfl::rotfl: Got lots more fruit/veg and finest pork medalions(45p) + a nice pork crackling joint(77p) that would have gone well in David.'s freezer if he'd had room:rotfl::rotfl:

Were you really there ? I would have looked a right numpty asking peeps if they were Artha of course if anything was glitching I could have checked out the trolleys and would be able to tell an mse"r. There was quite a bit of meat (never seen any left in the fridge on top shelf) before but it was still expensive so I was unsure how long it would be before they did the next reduction.

Do you know if they have had the new mags and they have all gone or have they not reached our area yet?
  • I still have, its over the bath, l love it.

I have many childhood memories of standing underneath it warming my arris at the coal fired rayburn:o

Another trick I found when I visited daughter was I used to cook a sunday lunch for all five of the students in her little flat thing. Very much appreciated.

I see you have had many good suggestions already.

I know A have gift cards that come in twos, one for parent and one for student so you can top it up for them to spend. Great if you are on strict budget as you can put either a small regular amount on or if wombles are good then treat him to a few quid extra. If I had had this option I would have loaded with £10 a week and dd could have either spent instead of grant/credit card or save for something.
Her halls didn't even have microwave in kitchen but luckily her dad had a spare. V x
