Evening all hope you are all well just going to read back
But before i do could any of you lovely people give me any advice pls
My ds has just been offered his place at uni for sept and i want to start buying him things he may need to take but i have no clue what he will need.
He will be staying in halls for the first year i want to start buying bits each month as i am a single parent and have to budget my money i would love any imput or ideas thanx for this guys xx

By halls do you mean his own room with lock on door and ensuite with kitchen between 5 or so rooms? If so can start with collecting towels, bedlinen x2 and quilt/pillow, couple of mugs, plates, bowls, glasses, saucepans, frying pan.
Cleaning products especially for shower and toilet as inspections are strict.
Couple of tupperwares for food storage in fridge as others tend to take up space with mouldy milk and students not good at covering foodup.
I would say these are must haves, then collection of any glitchy wul, showergel, deoderants.
My daughter was in halls at Leicester and they supplied nothing.
Of course you may have things he can take with him at home already.
Argos had some great value quilt covers last week for around £3.
Tip for boys try to keep linen and towels the same dark colour as seperating washing into colours is alien and if dark doesn't show dirt as much lol

I know there are many here with uni kids that will have useful tips too.
Can opener and spatulas very good and he will probably need set of cutlery.

Getting a head start on supplies is a very good idea but the things he doesn't lose will be useful in years to come.

From reading on here next time t's do a £5 phone be useful as if like nikilalas son will need several replacements:rotfl:

    Big congratulations to your son.

If he can get his reading list as early as possible you might be able to pick up secondhand books around may/june time.

Finally he will be needing his own clubcard of course.
    V x

One of the most expensive things is he will need own tv licence

    Messed up on Muller shop

Didn't realise all 10 had to compare:o I stupidly assumed they were just on offer at 30 p each at Morries:(:(

    1 x ASDA Chosen by You Pork Sausage Rolls (180g) £1.00 N/A

Comparison total (compared products only) £4.55 £4.55

Ones in bold not working:( just incase a list was being made

I'm getting thanked for my additional posts about random items, so I must be doing something right!:rotfl::rotfl:

Neither of the two Greek Style yogurts that returned N/A were on my list - my advice would be not to stray from my list (but I would say that!)

However, the Greek Style with Black Cherry was not on there - I can't find it in my M's, but neither are several others that I have on there which have previously been confirmed. It's going on my list!! Thanks.

We popped through to P0rtr@ck and spent 2 as I had one ending tomorrow as well - then popped to Artha's local T, I didn't appreciate what he meant by mob but I spotted them all waiting for reduced fruit and veg - it looked so funny. Only popped in to see if they had any of the new mags but they didn't.

    Evening all just catching up:)

I got the sada inquisition in A (Portr+ck) trying to use a £14.39 apg today. SA said she would have to get it checked with a supervisor as it was over 14. Unfortunately it was a supervisor that had previously refused one without any grounds for doing so (making up the rules again:mad:) Said it would have to be investigated and I'd have to wait 5 or 10 minutes so they could check it on the system.
Most of the stuff was non glitchy to get the APG but there were a few glitchy Doves on it. Came back and said that there had been a fault with the system to give such a high APG and I wasn't entitled to it but they would let it go this once as the system was now fixed but any more would be refused:eek:.

Why didn't you come and say hello tonight in T as I was there again waiting with "the mob":rotfl::rotfl: Got lots more fruit/veg and finest pork medalions(45p) + a nice pork crackling joint(77p) that would have gone well in David.'s freezer if he'd had room:rotfl::rotfl:
