JC staff-how friendly is too friendly?

It's just kind of odd to me, maybe I am making something out of nothing, but I've never known any of the other advisers at my local JC to be so...friendly towards the people going there.
Please, tell me honestly if I am being a paranoid idiot about this, I won't mind
trying to play devils advocate here - but his day must at times be fairly pants.
some people won't be actually wanting wok, and those that do can get really depressed as there isn't much out there. and advisor's know they can't really help all that much, as they know it's a hit and miss triple dip recession out there...
He may just be trying to be friendly, as you show up sober, and actually treat him with respect. (one of the guys who signed on in the same slot as me about 18 months ago used to turn up hammered, and once left a suspiciously damp patch on the coach behind him) this friendliness MAY just be appreciation of the fact you have showered this week, and haven't peed on the sofas.

Bitter and Twisted- If you don't mind me asking, what happened in the end, with the adviser that phoned and asked you out?
Let's just say that I never accepted his repeated invitations. What was horrible was that he had quite a lot of power over me, as you can imagine, so I constantly deflected his blandishments and managed to get him chatting about other things during my appointments with him.0 -
The guy fancies you is all. Now he knows that you have a boyfriend he'll calm down a bit. He's only normal.0

at the end of the day if your genuinly looking for work then i do think they treat you differently,
I was unemployed for 6months after uni and the woman at the job centre was friendly explained that their was very few of her clients actually looking for work and nice to find someone who was,
at the end of the day, from the way you talk about him are you sure hes just not a bit camp? trying to be chatty with someone dosnt mean their trying to chat you up.0 -
I think you should perhaps take the bull by the horns here instead of dancing around the issues.
Next time he asks you an inappropriate question - and only your definition of what is inappropriate counts here - say in a very polite and slightly confused voice 'Why do you need to know?'0 -
