Yes you can attend the warrant hearing and raise your objections / concerns and any past payment record, offers you've made (and of course stuck too since things improved again). Its then upto the Court whether or not they grant Eons request for a warrant.0

Does anyone know how long it will take to go through to court?
Thanks again
Depends on how busy the court is, I have warrants go through in weeks others months scotland is badDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
Why does it need to go court? If you tell them that you are willing to have prepayment meters installed they should do that and stop the court action.
By the way when I moved here there were these sort of meters in the position you describe.. the gas outside and the electric at ceiling height which is about 8ft. I got them changed to normal meters but used them like that for a while.
Once a warrant application is started they dont tend to stop, it costs them money also the op would of failed to respond to other action.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. Hi splodge,
Not sure if any of the following will assist you, but thought I should post in case it does.
________________________________________________
You could may consider applying for a grant for financial assistance.
Source: British Gas Energy TrustThe British Gas Energy Trust, which incorporates the Scottish Gas Energy Trust, is an independent Charitable Trust established in 2004.Applications are welcomed from customers of all energy companies – applications are not restricted to customers of British/Scottish Gas however you must be living within England, Scotland or Wales to be eligible to apply.
The Trust prioritises help to applicants who are clearly struggling to pay their domestic gas and electricity bills.
Only the account holder can apply for a grant to clear a utility debt – gas, electricity, water or sewerage. If the account holder is unable to complete the application form, an explanation must be given why someone else is doing so on their behalf.

With the new regs they shouldnt over 6ft, but thats h&s
Well I have installed electric meters for the past 7 years and fit key meters on a daily basis, not on warrants but on customer made appointments, and we have never been told by our company of any 'new regs' about not siting one over 6ft..
If its high ie 6ft+ I try my best to lower it on the board as much as I can or ask the customer if they are happy/able to reach it, if they say yes it goes in.. if they do say no, or are oap/disabled etc then i refuse to fit it anyway myself...
i have been called out once to a key fault for 80yr olds house and the meter was at ceiling height in the kitchen above the worktop, she had to stand on a chair, then on the kitchen worktop to put the key in...
I rang our office who said it went in on a warrant for debt..
So I changed it back to a credit mtr while on site and told the office to contact the customer to make alternative arrangements for payment.. I wasn't happy with her doing that!!0 -
Doesnt your company have concerns for health and safety, inregards to a decision to remove a pre-pay and fit a credit I bet the company whom was the supplier wasnt to happy doing it without their permissionDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. If anything, my company lives and breathes (and sh*ts) H&S (anyone who works for them will instantly know who that is), that's why its odd they have not told us of any such new regs..
Also, the MOP I work for is the supplier, and told them it was unsafe for the customer and i was changing it, and they said fine......0 -
We have just had our court date through for 22nd March 2013. Does anyone know what will happen? If I pay as much as I can before then will it go in my favour when I go to court or is it inevitable that they are fitting the prepayment meters (or cutting me off if they can't).
Thank you again everyone for your help. (and I'm sorry to have sparked a debate on meter fitting)
