recycling box remains empty of wine bottles. I wonder if the bin men will comment on it considering that at one point last year we had a note from them asking if we needed another box !
  • Hi everyone, antonic that is so amazing and well done on every one of those 500 days, i hope you are feeling a lot better thats a year and a half isnt it.
Anyway i got to go out now so id better get to the point lol.
26 AF days and hoping that I make it to target all be it my revised target after ballsing it up on Valentines night tut tut. So I hope when i post either late tonight or tom morning that I will be saying 27/28 but at present it is 26/27 and 3/5 SNCmackeroo thanks for all the many snc you have posted and counted and revised, it may look easy to do that service but it isnt and i appreciate all the hard work that you do. Thanks for the SNC which unless someone takes over the baton will be ending this week, I hope you enjoyed doing it mackeroo but it is a lot of work and now you deserve a well-earned break and if you miss doing it or change your mind Im sure that we will all welcome you back to doing it again, I know you're not going anywhere but if you do change your mind about doing the SNC just let us know, We all can change our minds and our workloads and commitments do change. No pressure honest I am just thinking about what I am like when I am overburdened and decide to be assertive and lessen my load and then I feel guilty and miss the burden, I know it doesnt make sense but I always miss the stress, burden, workload even though it causes the stress, burden, workload. Thats how I feel not saying you are the same, but just saying if you change your mind theres nothing wrong with admitting it and we dont mind as long as you are okay that is the main thing. Sorry for waffling its a human condition lol.

Thank you to you all for all of your thanks !.

I must admit that for the first few weeks I did find it difficult to cope without my usual intake of alcohol.

Once I worked through that phase, and could see the benefits (both health & financial), life then became a lot easier for me.

I have had 2 Team Xmas Meals where I have been AF, since I decided to become AF, and both my work mates and friends now know I am TT and dont even ask if I want a beer now !.

Healthwise, as a type 2 diabetic on tablets, my blood sugar 3 month average count (Hb1AC) is down to 7.2 compared to 8 + when I was drinking - a normal person count should be between 5 -7.
The other reason why is because I have lost weight due to giving up the booze (although I could do with losing quite a few more stone !).

Financially, as I am now coming to the end of my 90 month DMP (3 months to go), the £80/month average I was spending on booze, I am now spending on better quality food and enjoying myself !.

Good luck to you all, I KNOW you can do it !.

Wow, that is amazing. So inspiring and it must be great to be reaping the benefits in a tangible way. Well done on your amazing achievements. Good to know as well that it was tough at first... and that it gets easier...
