    Everyone Welcome.
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
  • Right today is the day! Having lurked about for too long its time I faced up to the fact that I drink too much and it needs controlling. I can remember a time when the kids were young that drink didn't bother me and I could take or leave it I want to get back to that the last 5 years have just been a blur!! Please put me down for 10 AF days for August and wish me luck!

  • Hi everyone,

Sorry I've not been about, it's been hectic this end.

Hoping to return to the challenge in September (if that's ok?)

    Hi

well, I got nowhere near my July target and downed pretty much all of a bottle of wine last night, boo.

Still, August is another month, so put me down for 25 days please Shaggy. Perhaps giving myself some leeway will stop me thinking "oh, well, I've blown it now so I may as well go and buy a bottle of wine". Trouble is, I lose count of how many days I've been dry if I do succumb to temptation.

21 out of target of 27 days for July, isn't brilliant, but I suppose it could be a lot worse.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

  • Satchmo1, I think you're an inspiration, last time I had 21 days AFD in a month (except when pregnant) I was 16, that's fantastic we'll done.

I feel I may be posting a lot this next week, ignore my ramblings, I just need to get it out there, it's sort of like writing a diary, I can't forget how good or bad I feel not drinking or drinking if it's there in black n white. After reading back through some of the posts I took a look in the mirror today and saw puffy eyes and sallow skin. It's not pretty. I even took pictures this morning of my face and figure to remind me of some of the reasons I'm doing this. The fact that I slide into bed after a few glasses of wine means I also never take my makeup off. Tonight, after getting in from the pub, which I drove to to stop me drinking, I took all my makeup off and loaded on the moisturiser, I'm feeling good right now about me and this and don't want this buzz to go.

    Hello all

July has not been good - at all.
I am AF [STRIKE]today[/STRIKE] yesterday but I think it is only 3 or 4 for the month.

Planning several days off now - I have £6 to last me as long as it can!

Can I be TF for August please? I am going to keep the intake low but I have a holiday at the end of the month - not sure how long for as we're ending it by going to stay with a friend.
I'm planning to be back to report another AF day this evening (Tuesday)

    Bye for now

    Joanne
