Dont be down on yourself, this is not about being a Superwoman, otherwise I,m in the wrong place. It,s a hard thing to do when you have a family who expect certain things. Do what you can when you can, if you dont feel up to it somedays dont push too hard, give yourself some slack. You,ll make it I,m sure, and if you go a little over...well you tried your best, and I,m sure you,ve improved a little bit just by being near your budget. Cheer up and get at much rest as you need, no-ones beating you up for it:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

OOOHHH Hello
Can i join in too?.... its just me and my hubby..but why do i stock pile food like there is gonna be a war?.... Have just found out that in the middle of August we will be moving to Bielefeld in Germany for 3 years-yeehaa. So i now have a perfect excuse to start running down my cupboards and freezer :-)...... im also in a battle with myself..i have to stop buying Goodfood, delicious, fresh and olive magazines !!!! i qualified as a chef when i was 17 and have soo many cookbooks....the negative side is that i cant resist cook books/mags but the plus side is that i can create a meal from just about anything..and my hubby will eat anything (apart from apricots)--- but i dont think that should be a problem LOL,
You guys have just given me the push i need....-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Hello all,
I've not posted much recently because haven't been spending any money. It all went wrong today though as we went to Mr Ts after running low or out of almost everything. I thought Aldi would be open today but it wasn't and Mr T is next door. We spent £94.28, way over budget. It would have been okay but as I have to have someone drive me to a supermarket and all friends' seem to be too busy to take me too, I had to get DH to drive me. Having checked the receipt, if we hadn't bought the following we would almost be in budget:
Spare ribs £2.69 x 2
S/fried chicken 2 for £2.99
p/nut cashews £2.69 I can't believe a packet of nuts cost £2.69-to eat on way home!
Meal bags 2 for £10 = £21.06
I would almost have been on budget but DH knows I've not been feeling so good and wanted to save me cooking Sunday lunch (we do have a half lamb and a half mutton in the freezer), so I can't complain too much. Pay day is 24th of May so I won't be spending any more cash and neither will DH. None of the above items feature any where in my meal plans for the next two weeks either. DD comes home early in June so I will be getting her to take me shopping or send DSs with a list in future.
Thanks for the chance to vent my feelings!!business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hi,
just a quick update - £9.57 in Asda today
Now a total of £76.07
Should make the £100 total (hopefully!)0 -
I have been reading these threads for a while now but am puzzled by some of the diminutives and initials. For instance what does the D stand for in DD, DS and DH. I guessed it was D=Dear. also this Mr T, is that Tesco or the geezer with all the jewellry?:cheesy:
Happilly I'm getting better at this housekeeping, but as the cupboards get barer and barer the DW is starting to look worried . The other day when she wanted to make a franzipan (she's my chou chef yer know) she said we need some more SR flour, when I pointed she should use plain flour ( you can't get the staff these days) and that we had 8oz left she had to grovel a bit :rotfl:. Used the last of the plain flour for the Yorkshire pudding today, but shall not need any till next Wednesday for the corn beef fritters (I love 'em:D) and we are having our fortnightly delivery on Wednesday, so should be O/K:cool:

Quick update.
Previous spend from 1st May
£175.93
I'm looking £206.00 (the £6.00 comes from a voucher I had which I spent on stuff which dosn't go off)
Finish date is 29th May
This is for two adults, and includeds cleaning and smellies, the reason I include those is because its possible to cut down on those costs as well.
Includes wine as well
Co-op - £2.28
Co-op - £18.25
Total - £196.46
So that leaves £9.54 for 9 days.
Well we won't make that, but no worries, my aim is to see what I spend this four weeks then my aim for the next four weeks is to reduce it by £5-00 -£10.000 -

Well I'd go for Dear / Darling Daughter, Son, Husband and Mr T is Tesco.

Weekly update time for me..
Well I know I'm going to come in under budget this month on account of bad budgeting elsewhere. That's to say there's about £30 left in the bank that's not earmarked and about £8 cash in the house 'til 1st June payday! Ooh, I've taken my challenge to a whole new level here but I'll see if I can do it. Well, I'll have to really!
There's plenty of random one meals worth stuff in the freezer and I'll just have to think hard. Could do with loosing about 7lb in any case - let's see if I'm this positive this time next week when I post again.
Hope you're all doing ok or at least not beating yourselves up about it if not.
Please send biscuits..

Well gonna be a bit of a struggle as now only £5 left until friday but I did buy the whole chicken today and teabags (they were buy 1 get one free so will not need to buy any for a few months). Got fruit too so just milk for us (got soya milk for girls other day) and bit of veg - will have to be seasonal stuff.
Have decided to do this differently next month and go by a week by week plan. Simply because we should (fingers & legs crossed) be moving at some point in June.
We did have a takeaway pizza this month out of the budget (DH used my HM cookie mix instead of bread flour in the BM - hee hee he will not live that one down), so will make up some HM ones for the freezer for those panic/cannot be bothered nights.
Lessons learnt so lets move on.0
