Problem with Huawei Ascend G300

Dear friends,

I need your help with the above. I bought this unlocked and have a Giffgaff sim in it, and it has the original Vofafone firmware, I have not tinkered with it.
Now for some reason I do not get any sounds when a text comes in, and there
is also no notification of texts in the pull down bar. The phone rings for incoming calls and sound works for video, music etc. I have checked the usual settings. Many thanks

Have you tried switching off the phone completely and restarting it?

Thanks for that, tried but did not work. I have downloaded a different messaging app which seems to help

Have you set the Volume Control as noiseless? And were there too many message that the phone failed to receive new message?

I mean have you set the Volume Control for Message as noiseless?

Hey Mike
I looks like somehow your message notification settings got disturbed.
Just go to your messaging app and check the settings, you will find notification settings there, turn it on and set the volume for it.
