Stick with Orange or move to O2? (or 3? or ...?)
I've gone past my contract by 6 months - a contract I should've changed long ago (£35 for 200min + 30 text - eww). I was really, really set to move to O2, having found a deal I liked (W880i with 400m/100t @ £35 & 8 months half price rental, 12 months contract). Deal aside (I can find similar deals on other network) the reason I was about to go O2 was because of their inclusion of 0870 numbers in the free minutes. Not for international calls (I've got Skype when I want to chat with my family abroad), but simply because so many companies seem to use them.
Anyway, nothing can be done about that anymore, though it means that O2 is no longer attractive from that point of view - and their main advantage is the unlocked phone (which is handy since I am leaving for 2 months over summer). I am now considering negotiating with Orange - see if they can offer me the W880i on a 12 months contract for about £25 (or less). I am not even too bothered about minutes/text, since I actually have another contract - and the only reason I am keeping this one is for the number (the new contract with Voda is potentially great if I can claim all the cashback, but the number isn't - and I wasn't able to port it).
And which network is the best in terms of 'special numbers' coverage? I am willing to look outside O2 now. 3 looks pretty good actually, with the roaming.

Umm, I am not sure what is the rules on bumping posts in this forum (I read the rules), so I'll just do this once as this thread is getting near the third page. Any advise/suggestions would be welcome. Thanks0

Why are you not able to port the number to voda ? You will be able to if you ring Orange up and ask for your pac code then give voda the pac code and they will transfer the number0

Yes, but I think Voda requires phone retailers to take a couple extra step to do the transfer, and the people I bought the phone from would not do the transfer.0
