I think that feedback should be compulsory because "how do you know the transaction is complete or not?" and how do you know if the buyer has received their item? They could come back in a month’s time and say, still haven't received it and want money back!

I see your point, but even if they HAD left feedback, paypal would not take it as proof of delivery, and you'd still have to refund.

Feedback serves no practical purpose other than to affect your reputation on ebay.

i leave feedback as a seller as soon as the item is paid for, as i buyer i leave it as soon as i have got the item and am happy with it....

Still got 100% feedback dunno what all the fuss is about.

As a rule, if paypal side with the buyer, it means the seller has failed to do a specific something which protects them.

By all means, prove me wrong.

 If you're the seller, and you've received the right payment in the right period of time, why would you not leave positive feedback straight away ... am I missing something ... or opening a can of worms best left closed  If you're saying you would wait to hear what the buyer had to say about you .... why?

I ask this in all innocence - although this is similar to a thread I was in last week?

I have been negged several times for items lost in the post or damaged in the post. I always refund immediately and send out another when this happens but definately do not do that when they neg me. They only get a refund then and an explanation that they should have contacted me first.
