EverythingEverywhere even worse than Orange — slow speeds, and severe traffic shaping

So Orange was bad. I'm close to the local exchange, in a new building with great wiring, and was promised 15–18 Mb/s download speeds.
Realistically, running tests over a year, I had an average 11 Mb/s download speed. (Customer service is also horrendous, but that's a different story.)
But now, since Orange was turned into the conglomerate EverythingEverywhere with T-Mobile, maximum download speeds have dropped even more:
5 Mb/s (only 1/4 of what was promised)
Simple HTTP browsing (regular websites) is what's affected and slowed down.
But in addition YouTube (streaming), Skype (p2p) and DropBox (file-sharing) have been hit hard as well — often unusable.
Furthermore, MSE should revise their statement about EverythingEverywhere, which right now says: "Traffic shaping: Light" — needs some revisiting.

Hm, something else must not be right. Even with those speeds you should be able to browse, youtube etc without any delays. I'm on 2.5Mb/s and everything works well.0 -

Anyone with broadband really needs to know how to obtain their router line statistics.
They tell you all you need to know about your connection.
They look like this:-
Info on finding them here, or check your router's documentation.
