we have just had 6 custom made doors fitted in an old house with non standard size doorways hence the custom made aspect....it still took a full day to fit them, carpenter started at 8 and finished well after 6...fitting was included in our total price

Can you share the price you paid for that?

I am in need of the same and could do with knowing what sort of price it would be :)

sadly they were not cheap....fully fitted with all attachments it worked out at £300 per door.

We went to several joinery companies who all quoted similar base prices for the type of doors we needed finally choosing one who were able to provide fire quality doors and we have ended up with very good doors that will last years and made to our exact specification....not very MSE but we like them.

After all it's a couple of hinges.

Cash upon completion, no comebacks, wacked in and so long as they shut its a pass.... then £125 might be reasonable.

£40 a door was standard price about 5 years ago, depending on the amount of work required on the frames I would be anything from 40-60 per door. Depending on the quality of fittings, how the doors have been stored and the quality of the surrounding finish.

4 internal doors fitted yesterday for £80 guy had to make new holes for hinges and fit a door handle to every one of them plus one was a locking door. He arrived about 8am and had left by 11.

A site chippy working with new linings that he had previously fitted that were plumb, square and used a Trend router jig would still struggle to hang 4 doors in 3 hrs.....

Working in someones house with linings that will be more than likely "in wind" and not square is a different kettle of fish.......

Sorry YB but thats complete bullsh*t..... £20-00 per door yes of coarse he did, was it an imaginary friend of yours?, does he have a name?. You forgot to mention he stopped for 20 minutes to have a cuppa.

Thanks - that's more or less the sort of price I had in my head :)
