Please help.Photos from gallery on samsung mobile gone.

Hi. I was trying to transfer photos from samsung galaxy ace to pc via usb. 1st time I've ever done this with mobile phone.Nothing was happening so i then pressed import photos using windows media which I normally use with my camera.Some pictures which I thought I deleted long ago transfered to pc,(pics of stuff which i sold on ebay) .I disconnected usb,checked mobile gallery and hundreds of my beautiful photos of kids were gone.Only the folder containing a few downloaded pics remained and 2 instragram pics.Can anyone please tell me what has happened to my pictures and is there a way to get them back? I was trying to save them to keep them safe and then this happened , am totally gutted and cried for hours last nite.:sad::sad: SORRY ths was meant for techie stuff forum ,how do i move it

Have you searched for the files on the PC-you appear to have moved them, rather than copy them?
Do you not have a back up on an SD card on the Galaxy for your apps and data?

Have you also searched the files on the Samsung using *.* from the PC linked via USB, failing that try using a free software recovery program like Recuva which is a good one, if you have accidently deleted them, it should recover them for you as long as you haven't taken anymore pictures.
