Fischer Heaters

An elderly friend has just had Fischer Future heaters installed in her bungalow at a cost of over £8,000, and is finding that her electricity bill is higher than before, because she is now on a Standard Tariff instead of Economy 7. I am guessing from this forum that she probably made an unwise decision, but is there anything she can do to cut her losses and minimise that heating bill (other than freezing!)

- keep the newly installed Fischer
- install a 3.4 kW duo storage heater in the room s/he lives in most of the time
- use the existing Fischer as 'panel heaters' switched on and off as per a £10 fan heater for example
- change the tariff back to E7
That way (1) most of the time in the bungalow she will be warm in the 'living area' at cheap rate. All the (2) hot water needs per year will be at cheap rate. use of the bathroom / bedroom / kitchen can be switched on / off by hand as and when required. The bedroom can be timed and low output during the day via the Fischer as a medical needs but more expensive option. The bedroom [indeed any / all] Fischer units (3) can be used unrestricted during the night at the cheap rate.
NOTE : The Fischers are brand new but second hand and are not worth selling / upheaval costs. Removing and reverting 100% back to night store would be uneconomic. Better to use them for what they truly are / were / will always be, a very expensive, pretty to look at, 'low output panel heater' worth about £50 each.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. Many thanks - that's very helpful. I will talk with her about it.0
