with a woodburning stove you must, to comply with building regs, and to obtain a certificate of completion on the ijstallation, have a mimumum of a 6" diameter flue. A pre-cast flue will not compy with this.
If you want a stove, your best bet is to have a sectional double-skinned flue system installed - this will cost around £1,200 - £1,800 depending on the height of your house - the flue must terminate at least one meter above the roof. Contact a few HETAS registered installers - they should give you a free of charge quote for fitting.
    Hope that helps

I've just had a wood burner fitted, by a HETAS registered engineer. Do I need a certificate from him to satisfy the regs?

Yes, you should contact the installer, and ask him for your Certificate of Completion. This means that, should you decide to sell your property, you will have the Certificate proving that everything was done to satisfy Document J of the building regs, and is all legal and above board.
