Absolutely, I hate throwing things out but find things much easier to let go when I'm eB@ying.
On that note, I cleared out my handbags last night and have put 5 bags and 2 purses in my eB@y pile. I have taken all the pictures and listed two bags already. I would really like a new handbag (well two actually!). I used to buy so many but have only bought 1 in the last 6 years and could really do with something a bit smarter for work. I will sell this lot and see what budget that gives me for a new one. I have kept three other bags in a maybe pile which I might sell if I need a few more pennies towards a new one.
I also had a quick peek in my wardrobe but very quickly shut the doors again as that jobs is just too scary. I did grab one pair of trousers which I've listed this morning too.
Yesterday was a low spend day
-Post office to post an ebay parcel
-£20 spent on a bill
-Transferred £4.46 to the mortgage to round it down to £269,945.00
I'm actually looking forward to the end of the month as I'm excited to see what the interest charge is for the month. Should now be below £14 a day which feels a bit like a milestone0 -
Thanks to Martin for highlighting the cheap co-op energy deal in last week's email. I applied for it last Thursday but was worried it might not to through due to the limited numbers. Today I received my welcome pack and transfer date details so all looks to be going ahead :j This will save us £240 p/a supposedly but we shall see.
We currently owe np0wer over £400 which we will need to pay before leaving. This is all due to a nasty bill that they hit us with many months after we left them last time. I have complained to them about this as per details on the MSE site but haven't even had that acknowledged yet. I need to follow that up. I must say that I am very much looking forward to not ever dealing with them again after this move!
All else is quiet in the M household.
- low spend day today. Only budgeted uniform items purchased online. Shoe shopping tomorrow though
- transferred £20 to £10k savings pot for a weekly bill that I won't be spending on Monday due to bank holiday
- transferred £31.35 to £10k savings pot for eb@y sales
10k savings pot stands at £1751.350 -
That's right, all items purchased for back to school. Also manage to get DD a new winter coat (much needed as she had none left at all that fit), few non uniform items (winter thermals for the kids), and have come under budget by £31.26 :j
- £31.26 transferred to savings account
- 3 more items listed on eB@y
- Two eB@y items sold today so need to post these tomorrow
- Lots of watchers seem to have appeared today so hopeful of a few more sales
- MIL gave us loads of plums and also have lots of cooking apples to use up so tomorrow will include lots of baking!
- Having disagreement with old energy supplier as final bill shows that they owe us money but they that they don't. Waiting to hear back to them to get this sorted out.
House is looking a cluttered mess. Think I might need to step up the eB@ying as we just have so much stuff. Still have so much it is beyond a joke! I have cleared three carrier bags ready to drop at clothing bank when kids are back at school. Also have a bag of clothes to drop to a friend.0 -

Lovely to hear that my ramblings have inspired some eb@y action. Did you manage to get everything listed?0 -
Spent a lovely bank holiday weekend with friends. BBQ, drinks and ice bucket nominations all added to the fun!
On the MFW front- Three items sold in eb@y. Packed and ready to post tomorrow
- Started and have almost finished working on budget for September. Hoping to send a minimum £2.5k to savings
- I am refusing to put the heating on despite it being absolutely freezing here. DH put fire on this evening to take the chill off and warm the house up a little
- Have someone on eb@y interested in some LO patio slabs that I would be very pleased to see the back of. Fingers crossed!
Back at work tomorrow after a few days offNot looking forward to it at all (I always struggle after time off)! Just need to get my head down and get on with it plus think of the savings getting closer to the next £10k!

Unfortunately not! Got 22 items on there, I didn't realise they no longer allow unlimited 99p listings without listing fee's. They only allow 20 free listings per month!
Bit annoying as I have some books and dvds to list.Start Feb 2013 £148,900

I think I prefer the new system smiffy as whilst it's only 20 items, you can list at any start price and fixed price listing are included too. I mostly list at fixed prices now so I can put it on for what I want to get for it. It all seems to be selling so seems to be working for me.
I think the listing are pet calendar month anyway so only a few more days until you can do anther load!
I've also found that I have had an email invite for free listing weekends the last couple of months which offers 100 more listings. I don't know if this is open to everyone though?0 -
So work wasn't anywhere near as bad as I'd feared. I am in different office for next two days though which I am not looking forward to but hey then I have four days off.
I have started shuffling money around for month end as DH has been paid.- £2k move to savings
- Set up new monthly standing order to OP mortgage by £134.54 monthly. This takes us to the amount we used to pay when we first moved into this house. When interest rated eventually go up we could be paying a much higher amount so we may as well start practising now
- Posted the three eb@y parcels. Looks like the paving slabs are a no go tho...
- Ordered some fabric samples. We have a lot of windows still without curtains/blinds and I am adamant that we will not spend a fifth winter doing without. I dread to think of the cost though...
- May be having some fencing replaced in next couple of weeks. About half of one side is getting quite tatty. We aren't too fussed about replacing it as it isn't damaged as such yet but neighbour is willing to pay half to have it replaced. It is our responsibility and we would probably have to do it in the next year or so, so think that we will go ahead. May be needing to lower my savings target for this month though.
Also, DH is eyeing up lads snowboarding holidays so September could end up a very expensive month:eek:0 -
Well it's one of my paydays anyway. Have shuffled money around and move some to savings. Wasn't able to move much of my wages as have had to pay quite a chunk of childcare due to summer holiday. £50 transferred in from PayPal though. Total in the savings pot for the next repayment chunk stands today at £4015.55:T
I'm still £500ish short of my savings target for the month and have quite a few things to pay for out of there. Can't think of them all off the top of my head (need to check my spreadsheet) yet but includes new fencing. Tried to pin DH down on cost last night he says approx £550 which would be better than I remembered as I thought closer to £800. I wonder whether he has missed something...
Plan for today is as follows- See friend and her new baby
- Food delivery this morning. Have meal planned for next ten days and lots is from freezer. If we manage not to spend extra I will be very impressed/pleased!
- Amend grocery budget for the month as forgot to include the kids school meals now they will be back at school
- Get house tidied and quick clean up as have friends over this weekend
- Make apple crumble
- Book WM repair as it's playing up and not rinsing/spinning correctly. Hopeful it will be covered by warranty but not too optimistic
Best get on and find some motivation to get on with my list. Hope you all have a great day.0
