The BIG Plan...

Quiet day at home today. DD had dancing this morning whilst DS was at a birthday party.
DH and I stayed home finishing a few DIY jobs whilst we had the house to ourselves. No spends there though as we had everything we needed already for this.
I've made a big batch of chili for dinner this evening and the freezer. Used up lots of bits from the fridge including tomatoes, mushrooms, red pepper and onions all of which were starting to look a little sorry for themselves. We seem to have thrown a lot of food out in the last couple of weeks so this is a good start to keeping on top of it.
Today won't be a NSD though as am off out for a friend's birthday this evening. We are only going to a local for a few drinks though so nothing too extravagant.0 -
Had lovely evening last night. Spent £13.50 but this is from my personal spends allocation (DH and I have an amount each month that we can do what we like with).
Kids were both at football this morning and had to go along to find out about arrangements for next season. I don't mind it this time of year but really hate standing out in the freezing weather
This afternoon was some tidying up at home and a bike ride with the kids.
Finished one little DIY task from yesterday and that's now packed away too.
A low spend day today £1.95 on eggs from the farm down the road.
I have written my to-do list for the week. Kids break up from school on Tuesday so I can't see myself getting a huge amount done. I did strike one thing off it already though - finally did all my filing which has been piling up for a good few weeks. Also pulled lots out of the files that is no longer relevant so does mean that shredding has now been added to the list. Oh well, I quite enjoy that little job as find it quite therapeutic
I'm off to catch up on everyone's diaries then bedtime for me as I'm in need of an early night.0 -
Enjoyed lovely day with some friends today. Lovely to catch up with them though more money spent from personal spends. Still, well worth it.
MS today
-Bought Christmas present for a friend £18. Always nice to get these bits when you see them and this is budgeted for
-Had planned trip out this afternoon but kids currently playing happily so decided to give this a miss and do it on a day when we need to get out of the house
-Cooking HM bolognese for dinner. Using up some sad looking veggies and have the remnants of a bottle of red that need using up so will chuck that in too.
-OnePoll surveys done. I have done these for about one week straight but I always do them for a couple of weeks then start forgetting so must keep at it. Up to £24 now
-EBay item sold for £10 so that will go into savings once I've deducted fees etc. Won't be huge amount as includes postage but it's something and clears a space.
Plan for evening
-eBay listings aiming for 4 but may do more if I get into it
-Ironing tackle 10 items
-put wash on timer ready to hang out in the morning0 -
Things ticking over nicely here. Still eating from meal plan and took lunch to work today which resulted in a NSD for me today. Though DH paid off final bill to do with the extension £2k  still at least it is done.
Work was rubbish today but kept thinking about my MFW goals which kept me going.
Still in discussions with DH regarding a new car. I'm still in two minds so we shall see.
Another work day tomorrow. Also need to pop to L1d1 for a couple of bits and fill my car up.0 -
Another NSD day today as didn't make it to L1d1 finished work late.
Managed quick trip to library with the kids so they will be entertained for free for a couple of days
Am awaiting some work expenses to be paid back to me which should have come through a couple of days ago. I will chase up if they don't come in tomorrow.
The best news of today is that I have an unexpected £2500 coming my way from a family member:j. May now need to start doing some serious thinking regarding the car situation...0 -
Fab news on the £2500! You sound like you are doing really well with flea bay. I've only been doing it for the last few weeks and am still getting the hang of it! I don't think I'll ever really understand what will sell and what won't sell.

Hi Whitesnowdrop
Fleabay can be really hit and miss. Sometimes the most unusual items sell and others I would expect to sell don't get any interest. I'm mostly selling kids bits at the moment - toys/clothes etc. Just sold another item today which was kids school uniform which is selling well at the moment.0 -
Great day today.
-another eBay item sold and posted approx £4 post fees and postage
-cleared out some items from the shed. Lots to the bin but also some for me to eBay.
-got paid from one of my part time jobs today. So £285 to add to savings pot
Shed is now clean, tidy and ordered: shame the rest of the house isn't they same!0 -
Had lovely night away this weekend with DH. Very nice to have some child free time and recharge a little.
Last couple of days have
-sold two more items on eb@y
-had some expenses repaid which I've put in to the savings pot as these were things I was expecting to pay myself
-cleaned my car which was particularly yukky and saving £40 on a quote I was given last week. It's not perfect but it will do plus kids helped which kept them entertained for a whole afternoon
-went to library which meant quiet evening yesterday as kids were reading by themselves.
-borrowed a book for myself that I've been wanting to read for a while and did think about buying last week (for just a split second)
Summer hols so far have cost us very little BUT have quite an expensive day planned today, school uniforms still to order, august childcare to pay to cover my work days0 -
Started sorting out month end/start finances. Looking at the mortgage.
[SIZE="3"July
Overpaid £94.67
Interest added £434.64 daily interest £14.02][/SIZE]
August monthly payment made plus normal £23.58 OP. With the interest added if I can find another £143.62 OP this month we can get to £270000.00 which would mean another nice milestone.
August is going to be a very tight month for us though as DH's start date for new job means he missed payroll for July so no wages for him until end of August
I will have to try to spend as little as possible this month. I have ordered some of the kids school uniform but still have some to buy plus new shoes etc. My wages will mostly be swallowed up by childcare costs.
August aims
-No savings to family fund
-My wages diverted instead to childcare
-£143.62 extra OP which I should have some wages to go towards this and will use eb@y earnings to tops this up too
-keep overdraft to a minimum (or non at all!)
The plus side is that DH will get larger than wages at the end of the month so if we keep spending to bare minimum we could have more to save at the start of September.0
