Word of caution on the co car route - the tax burden on them is increasing quite a bit over the next few years, have a look at how much it's going to cost over the life of the commitment (typically 3 years) before signing up for something that becomes more expensive on balance over the course of 3 years.

Thanks for the heads up Choc. It's all a bit up in the air at the moment but when we have the full details of the new work car scheme through then I will be doing lots of research and working the figures out, so will certainly look at that too.0 -

Nice to see you LannieDuck. I hope the read isn't too boring!0 -
Quick update on the last couple of days
-2 NSDs
-2 eB@y sales posted off
-Energy account has switched over so online account set up and meter readings submitted. We may end up overpaying this month as both old and new DD's are set to go out but should then be due refund. I have adjusted bills account accordingly and will send refund to savings/OP when it comes through.
-Working through mealplan this week so food spends should be low.
Just waiting on DH's expenses to clear to bank account so that expenses CC bill can be paid. May have to pay this myself if this doesn't come through soon...0 -
Another NSD today.
-pottering around in the garden
-tidying around the house
-some surveys completed
-bank accounts checked over but nothing v exciting happening! DH expenses still not cleared
-2 items sold on eb@y. 4 more have bids on and due to finish today so should keep me busy tonight.
-Managed to nab some of the AMEX deals to our CC for extra cashback (from :money: weekly email) THANK YOU for that Martin. Shell deal £10 back for £50 spend and 0cado £10 back on £60 spend will come in particularly handy as we would use these anyway
-Received £5 off next shop voucher from 0cado so along with above, will make for a cheap grocery shop
-four loads of washing cleared and dried outside
Must go get on with getting some dinner together. Have one washing load to fetch in off the line. Whatever this evening brings must include at least a little ironing as piles is ginormous :eek:0 -
Quick update for the 1st of the month as should really be getting everyone ready for work/school.
Lots of bills gone out this morning as it's the 1st. Mortgage payment and regular OP of £134.54 have gone out. These aren't showing on the mortgage account yet (normally takes a few days) and same for interest added.
Have roughly calculated that once these three hit mortgage will stand at £260,299.31. Now I can't possibly leave it looking like that for a month!!
Normally OP and savings being split 50/50 so my mini challenge for this month is to OP £499.31 (or whatever the exact pennies turn out to be) and save £500.
Will start by withdrawing some money from pay@l. Few more small eb@y sales. Lots of packages to make up tonight for posting tomorrow. This should leave around £30 for each pot. Will confirm figure tomorrow after post office trip.
Have some largish spends to make including travel bookings for summer holiday.
Still awaiting DH's expenses to come in which are very late so don't really know what I have to play with as yet.
One thing def due is small tax rebate but need my p60 in order to check the amounts and chase it up. Will give work a gentle nudge re p60 this morning.0 -
Morning Mummyem
You sound organised as ever. Those little pots of money - expenses/paypal etc really do add up don't they. I am excited for your challenge for May (I am very sad I know!) and will be cheering you on from the sidelines. Did you invest in some soapnuts? They really are saving me a fortune xx

Just logged in to eb@y to see '100 free listings offer' sat there ready to be claimed! You know what I'm going to be doing this weekend...
p.s. I must be such a bore to live with, but as I keep telling DH, he won't be complaining when we are MF0
