I came on here to see if there had been any response from the forum team - see there is nothing yet.
I find it quite disturbing that it seems to be the first thing that you see when the page opens. It is completly uncecessary and offensive.0 -
I have just reported my own post, in an attempt to bring the thread to the attention of the forum team. :cool:I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

Hi everyone
Thanks for the feedback.
Using this kind of word in the weekly email is always discussed heavily before the team goes down this route, hence why it's not written in full but partly asterisked out.
Personally I'm similar to you loracan1, in everyday conversation I think it's unnecessary, but in this instance I'd say as the aim's to grab the attention of people who may be affected by the issue and need their money back it's ok.
AndreaCould you do with a Money Makeover?

Andrea - I doubt anyone expected anything other than a robust defence from MSE..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

So MSE feels it needs to be offensive to grab people's attention. Would they use the N or the C word to do so? Just how far would MSE go to grab people's attention? Cheap and lazy journalism. Next time use the meeting to come up with a non offensive word.0 -

So on the same premise, if I disagree with another poster, it is fine to call them a b*****d to make my point, since I haven't written it in full?I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

"We thought about it - we did it" is hardly a robust defence!
It is a shame that, given the strength of feeling on this thread, the forum team cannot admit they made a mistake. Any value in the story they were publicising has been lost, as people are more concerned with the unsuitable title than the actual content.0 -
Im my view, it is also a cop-out refering to Lorcan's post to justify the decision - since ironically the OP was not about the word B****d at all, but about the content of the article (as I understand it).I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

It was about both - I wondered if I was being overly sensitive and getting my morals in a twist, judging by the responses I wasn't.
It makes a cheap point, in an tawdry manner and where I would've once pointed all sorts of folk in the direction of this website, I won't bother at present.0 -
Must admit I was very surprised and it didn't make me read the article, just thought it lowered standards on here. Tut Tut MSE.0
