Smelly Teenager's Bedroom
Comments
-
As the mother of sons I have to admit - no matter how often they bathed & showered (they even wore deoderant bless 'em) their bedrooms did get quite pongy.
TBH I think it's rampant testosterone!! They were both at their worst when they were about 14 or so. Now that they are in their 20's it's much better.
I didn't know about bicarb then - just had to open windows etc. I used to keep bowls of lavender in their rooms and then spray beds etc with a lavender & water solution. (I can't stand those synthetic air fresheners - they give me headaches).0 -
Wow! I'm the odd one out here, we can't get our 15yo DS1 OUT of the shower! He spends at least 30-40 minutes in the shower every morning, another 20 - 30 minutes doing his hair, he washes and irons all his own clothes and is always immaculate. His 12 year old brother however is the usual horrible teenage monster in the making and more than makes up for him...
no your'e not !
my boys have been really clean but the girls....eeewww!Every day above ground is a good one0 -

I have to admit - I have 4 lads ( youngerst is nearly 19 though) and you cant get near a bathroom or a mirror for them. If you let them I dont think theyd ever get out of the bath or shower, lol. Not got girls so cant comment.
good luck with your teenagers. Just try to hang onto the fact that they do come through the other side, lol.

I have a smelly teenage girl too
my son showers every morning and evening, uses more products than me! My daughter is the opposite and her room is hideous. Fortunately, their bedrooms are in the attic so I don't have to go up there much and the smell hasn't permeated the rest of the house!
I think the only real solution is to make them live in the garden“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

My 2 sons (now 18 and 22) have shared a smallish room allthrough their teens and it's never been pongy. The window is usually open 24/7 if it's not freezing (and then it's on vent-lock) and their duvets are folded back each morning to let them air. They both shower or bath daily, sometimes twice if it's very hot or they are going out! They do, however, sometimes resort to a "man shower".....emptying half a can of deoderant up their shirts!"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

This thread is cracking me up!
My boys are 17 and 15 so you can imagine the smell that greets us at the top of the stairs. Add to that 2 elderly gerbils who live on the landing and a dog who also likes to lie up there and it just makes me wanna move out!
DS1 is always in the shower (dictated by his GF I think - I have a feeling it's a case of short rations if he smells!), his windows are always open, bed changed weekly and turned back in the morning (he says - I don't brave it every day), but still there is that musty musky smell that just emanates from boys of that age.
DS2 is allergic to water, has very long hair by which I sometimes have to drag him to the bathroom to wash, and seems to think eco-friendly means feeding bugs and rats in your room with month old pizza crust.
I know they will grow up and I will look back and laugh/cry once I have mucked out for the last time, but all I can say at the moment is THANK GOD FOR OUST!Oh dear, here we go again.0
