Smelly Teenager's Bedroom

Afternoon, I have just discovered OS and am enjoying the challenge. I particularly like the cleaning ideas as heavily fragranced cleaners give me a terrible headache. This is where my problem has come from, my teenagers bedrooms stinks!! It is as clean as a button but there is always this 'fuggy' smell. I have windows open all the time, the bed is changed and aired regularly, so what can I do. I really don't want to put air freshener in there but am running out of ideas??

Is it his/her trainers? one of the usual culprits.0

Is it the carpet? If so i would put some bicarb of soda on it, leave as long as poss (at least a couple of hours) then hoover up. WEorks brilliantly on getting sicky smells out of carpet:D**Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened!**

Try taking said teenager and pegging him/her out on the line to air for a few hours. It's bound to be where the smell is coming from
(Alternatively try burning a scented wax tart - or is that not OS? Yankee Candle are always a good bet and they smell divine)."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
sprinkle bicarb on carpets and mattress (bicarb neutralises the smell from sweat on mattresses) and leave to air you can also sprinkle bicarb in the trainers and put them outside for a few hours.0

:rotfl: thats really funny! if only it was that easy  today i asked my 14 year old lad to remove the rotting sandwiches (uneaten lunch from school, why do i bother?) from his bedroom for about the umpteenth time as i now refuse to go in there but i could smell the "smell" from the landing of rotting teenager _pale_ i refuse to go in there now as its so bad, i don`t see why i should have to clear up his fousty mess as he is more than capable at his age. so he duly went to his room and less than 5 mins later proudly came downstairs and said "i`ve done it!" i said "but where are they?" he said "i`ve put them in my bin". so basically he`s just moved them around his bedroom  and the bin would sit there for another 2 months or so till i nag him to empty it  please tell me they grow out of this stage, i dont think i could cope with the smell till he moves out when he`s an adult :rotfl:

I hope so! I have to constantly remind my 17 year old DS to shower:eek: his room first thing in the morning smells disgusting!
The bed is changed weekly and it is clean and tidyish for a 17yo but as mrcow said its probably the teenager more than the room that pongs!
I go into my DSs room and spray linen and room spray with lavender all over it and also put lavender oil on the bedding - does help a bit! also empty his laundry bin often!
good luck!;)I also have a 14yo DS but he hasn't hit the smelly stage yet!
Do what you love :happyhear0 -

The joys of teenage boys!!!! (My 17 yr old is the same, we have pitched battles to get him in the shower more than once a week! How he's kept his girlfriend for 2 years is beyond me!)0
