Non reportable rta if details were exchanged and no injuries
You can contact police if they refuse to pass detail / are abusive
Re you policy you will need to pay it in lump sum or continue payment however will not transfer to another car (really rubbish if a bump takes place the day after accident) some insurance companies may differ but I doubt it
Re the value of car it depends on company my car was ber 2 years ago I expected approx 1000 -1200 but hot offered 3k
Other person was st fault
If insurance companies decide the other driver is too fault thry decide then they may give u a higher figure if claiming the money back from someone else as oppose to their own pockets:A VK :A0 -
Please please please don't claim whiplash if you aren't actually suffering with it. All you do is push everybody's premiums up.
Good luck getting your car sorted and get onto plod ASAP as this is down to his insurance to cough up for, not yours.0 -
My car was written off after a crash a couple of years ago. The insurance company cancelled the policy as soon as they sent me the cheque - so I wasn't insured to drive the car I'd borrowed from my parents (no courtesy car on my policy).
My experience differs to this. I was given a month to change car details over on policy and it continued to run until renewal date.
Seems it depends on the insurance company.Sealed Pot Challenge 2011 #11480 -
Just to clarify I wouldn't ever dream of putting a claim in for injury if not injured... I already have ridiculously high insurance premiums being a 25 year old woman with driving record of three years. All I want is my car back to the state it was
