does this work that u buy say a piece of cod and they give u a piece of coley as well ?onwards and upwards0

basically if you ask for the big 5 (tuna, cod, haddock, salmon or prawns you will be offered a more sustainable option for free (sardines, coley, lemon sole, trout and mussels). If you don't ask, you don't get!

No:) If you go for the sustainable option you get it free! But you have to not buy the unstainable one....If you don't ask, you don't get!

Details here http://www.j-sainsbury.co.uk/media/latest-stories/2013/20130123-sainsburys-helps-the-nation-switch-the-fish/ Only one free portion per transaction0

Is it just Sainsbury's stores with a fish counter that are doing this? My local one doesn't have one but sells prepacked fish.0
-
Whats the chances though that I go in and ask for cod and they'll just bag it up without offering anything more sustainable as they have either a)ran out or b)not got a clue and i'll be lumbered with the expensive cod lol0

I wonder what a "portion" consists of?
Also wonder if I will actually have to go through the rigamarole or if I can just say "hey, gimme the free fish"0
