    Xmas Saver!
This is in no way having a pop at the OP, but I have never understood how anyone could have gift vouchers for this long.
I would have thought that they could have been used for something in the last 2 years.

The only shop that I'm pretty sure has gift cards that don't expire is Ikea.

Also Marks and Spencer - they honoured some vouchers I found [after my Dad died] which must have been at least twenty years old. It did cause a bit of a stir when presented to the cashier:
"I've never seen any like these before" he said. The supervisor had a look then told him they were fine (but they were paper rather than plastic cards, and did not have an expiry date on the back).

OP, you could try writing to head office saying how much you love Mothercare products and how disappointed you were when the gift voucher was refused.. It might work. ;)

To be honest, I struggle to get to mothercare and you can't spend the vouchers online. I decided that I needed to get on and spend them now - and this is what happened!

Annoyingly I spent some vouchers at john lewis and m&s last week - no expiry and I'd definitely had them much longer (was waiting to buy something nice with them...)

Oh thanks! I recently found £20 of M&S paper vouchers and wasn't sure if they'd take them - there is no mention of expiry on them.

I had the same thing happen at B&Q once, I argued the toss with them for a while and they accepted them.

Just for information, John Lewis/Waitrose vouchers don't seem to have dates on them. They are paper vouchers and I like to stash them until I have enough to buy something when I need it, like new bedding!

I can, easily. My family have a habit of buying me things from M and S which I take back and get gift cards for as an not the original purchaser, or they give me M and S gift cards even though they know I don't like M and S clothes and don't have one particularly close by so very rarely shop there even for food. Ive carried cards around for way more than 2 years unused. Last year I hit on the idea of going to M and S and buying Christmas presents for my whole family there which got rid of several years worth of refunds and gifts for me and was appreciated I hope by them as they presumably like M and S clothes as they shop there a lot.
