i would have thought f/b is a very powerful and effective way to share any info quickly and to reach loads of people , if you have 10 friends and they share it with 10 of their frinds then it doesn't take many shares to build a large amount of people who know .0

Possibly because when you were a teenager (like when I was one) there were no mobiles or social networking - times have changed Pullip!;)
But sad news; some of us are given unbearable loads.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I appreciate that, but even so people weren't as quick of the mark to shout "missing" as they are today.
I had one come through my twitter the other week that had been missing for 6 hours. Now come on that's just ridiculous.

why is missing for 6 hours ridiculous, there may have been some worried family who couldn't get in touch with their son/daughter mobile phone may have been down, the missing person may have been at a party and fell asleep, at least if people use social networking sites, other people could pass the message on to the 'missing person' to contact home, because family are worried.
I remember when i was younger, and after a night clubbing i would think nothing of going to a party, and arriving home early on a sunday morning, at the time i never thought about my mum, being worried (now i know as i'm a mother ) and there was no mobile phones to text home in my days.0 -

My son is frequently out of contact for above 6 hours and I don't panic and post his photo all over twitter. The ridiculous 6 hour one involved an adult of 19. Whilst 6 hours is probably understandable for a younger teen a 19 year old 'missing' for 6 hours is farcical.0
