Made dinner from food in stores - resisting urge to go buy things but will need bread and milk and eggs etc tomorrow but will stick to list.
Another NSD and still half a tank of diesel which should cover at least two shifts next week.

Today I am going to call SKY and haggle my TV/ Broadband/ Phone package. I tried this the other day and they offered a bit less but nowhere near enough... Time to try a different team member :rotfl: Anyone got any tips? I need to get it down to £40 or less. Last bill was £72  I'm going to cancel the movie package but they say even the most basic of packages is £42.50 plus VAT .... anyone got it any cheaper than that? Of course I could just change telephone/ broadband supplier and go freeview...0

Tia - We went Freeview a couple of years or so ago. We were paying about £40 a month for fairly basic Virgin media package - broadband, landline & tv channels (not mega film ones or any of the big sports ones). We decided we couldn't justify it, as one evening, partner (who I thought would want to keep it!) said 'Look, let's go through all the channels together & say whether we watch it or want to watch it or never watch it'. So we did that & can you believe there was ONE channel I thought I might possibly miss!! We dropped the tv package & started paying about £23 for just broadband & landline. So that meant we'd been paying £17 for one channel on which I watched one programme a week for the 8 or so weeks of the year it was actually on!! How mad was that? We love Freeview. Partner just starting to make noises about looking at different suppliers for phone & broadband as he reckons he's seen better deals around than Virgin now, but we won't be having those tv channels back! x2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

Thank you Foxgloves! I think I'm probably guilty of the same thing although I do like to be able to pause/ rewind live TV. Might just have to bite the bullet (or the remote!) and just stick with Freeview. I hardly watch any channels anyway x :undecided
After a somewhat lengthy conversation with SKY I got rid of the movies and theyve promised to send me a free new router and half my line rental for 12 months... Saving of £37.50 per month... I'm happy with that! WooHoo!0
