    - B and D from stored but didnt bring any lunch so cheap salad from canteen
    - pop into superdrug for a few bits - with list! - done and stuck to list!

    - Food plan for the next week - partly done

Im off to slimming club tonight - I have been awful recently with my diet but just hoping it will click sometime so I keep on going. Hopefully meal planning my lunches and dinners for the next week will help.

    hi all

Just wanted to say I haven,t done a full food shop for 2 1/2 weeks now and it is amazing what with the weather and what you got in your cupboards

Sunday: Freezen chicken veg dinner - lovely
Monday: Fish fingers, chips and beans
Tuesday: Spag bol with garlic bread
    Wednes: Cornbeef hash and beans.

Still got more than enough tins in cupboard and a few bits in the freezer but it just goes to show that we haven,t wasted a thing

Oh forgot to say, just popped to iceland on monday for 3 bottles of milk and 2 loafs of bread and that was it.

Not sure where the "following users say thankyou for this useful post" has gone today, so I can't say thank you to all of the posts I want to thank.

My story (as a newbie) is that my husband was made redundant after 29 years last august. I work part time. Our income has gone down from 49k to just under 9k pa. We have a 19 yr old at uni who can't get a grant due to hubb's 19k redundancy. Now, as we have more than £16k still saved (redundancy) Hubby's JSA runs out on 1/2/13 and so no more benefits (which were £71 pw btw). Then we are down to £650 pm income (down from £890 pm). Luckily we don't have a mortgage so I am hoping we can stay in our current house that we own and love (it is a bog standard semi but in a lovely part of the world)

Anyway, I log on to you lot every am and find you all inspiring... just wanted to say!!! seeing the " thanks" are back on, so here goes!
  • Hello all ... I'm late again :o:o

Struggling to get back into a routine ... and really tired:( but I'll get there!

    Very small list from me:

    • B / L / D from stores done - new meal planning challenge is helping me loads :T and I'm sticking to my plan really well :)
    • Go to Al*di for "bits" as these are soooo much cheaper than the "big" SM done
    • Start to look at Feb budgets - Can't believe we're nearly one month down already!
    • Walk dog x 2 done but 2nd one wasn't as far as usual as really tired today - luckily she met a few other dogs so had a good run around!
And that's about it from me!
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!

    Me again!

Just love reading what we all can do to save a bit of money and try to stop debt. Have learned so much from these forums and realized now how much I was wasting!

Well bit tired today and think maybe coming down with something.

    Well today I have:

    - Stopped at the Waitrose I pass during my work today, purchased a sandwich for £1 (I know I should have made one but its my little treat) and picked up my free coffee which would have been £1.85

    - Managed to buy myself the book I wanted that is currently just under £4 everywhere in the charity book shop in the 3 books for £2, so a great saving and I got two other books. Once I am finished with them I save them and sell at the bootfair at 50p a book so only costs me 50p to read three.

-Left heating off all day till 5pm.

    - Feed dogs dinner off pigs trotters brough cheaply at butchers, rice and mince, plus a bone each as they were driving me mad and keeps them quiet.

-Dinner out of the freezer which cost less than 55p.

    - Finally filled up Dishwasher on day three, so will be putting a wash on.

    - checked bank account so I know how much I need to put in tomorrow to pay bill.

    - Completed application for course so that I can learn my new skill and make some extra money.

    - Will run a hot bath, turn the heating off, lights etc in all rooms apart from bathroom, and lay in there to read book.

    - Decided I need to keep to a time scale on MSE as I seem to spend all night on here and get not much else done.

Hopefully have a good day tomorrow as well.

My lovely daughter got me hooked on the 'small things' thread so we both post here now. It does confuse the newbies! :rotfl:
