also just makes me think im not that upset as the car aint worth much but if i have a better car in the future and the same thing happens then that would be horrible shame there is not much that can be done same as when someone feels like they wanna run there key along your car
If it happens in the future and you have an expensive car with comprehensive cover you can make a claim if it is cost effective in respect of excess/loss of ncd / premium loading.0 -

I'm surprised that the health and saftey Nazis have not banned this, in fact I'm surprised they haven't closed scarp yards altogether for being too dangerous
Tbh its always surprised me that the automotive industry hasn't pressured the govt into closing ALL breakers yards.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

There are still a few scattered around. I have one near me too although the last time I went the owner was looking rather gloomy - when I spoke to him the health and safety brigade had been in and forced them to invest in hi-vis, hard hats etc. Now admittedly some of the cars were a bi9t dangerously stacked but most folks working around cars know how to handle themselves with large lumps of metal don't they?
Anyway there was a polish bloke a while back who got himself sliced up in a car crusher that has contributed to making this worse for those of us struggling to keep our cars on the road cheaply. It was all the H&S brigade needed to start clamping down on the scrap yards
