Amazon prime BEWARE!

I have been in contact and Amazon confirmed on this occasion it was added to my purchase without me opting in for some reason.
Then that's (imho) very sharp practice by Amazon and shame on them for doing this! They also confirmed the standard emails about prime were not sent toy email to make me aware that I had signed up for a free trial
As you've said that Amazon signed you up without your consent, shouldn't the above read:They also confirmed the standard emails about prime were not sent toy email to make me aware that I had been signed up for a free trial without my consent or knowledge.0 -
If your getting technical then yes it could read that but that's what they have said to me so that's what I'm passing on0

I'm not getting technical, I think you've misunderstood the point I'm making.
You say that Amazon signed you up without your consent.
(quote - confirmed on this occasion it was added to my purchase without me opting in for some reason).
Therefore, for them to then say that they didn't send emails to make you aware you'd signed up for a free trial is wrong.
The point I'm making is that you didn't sign up for a free trial.
They signed you up for a free trial that then became chargeable.
If you are reporting verbatim what they said, I personally would have been bloody furious if they'd given the excuse that they'd not sent emails to make me aware that I'd signed up for the trial.
(quote - to make me aware that I had signed up for a free trial)
I'd have said very forcibly that they had no right to sign me up for anything I'd not agreed to - and then have the bloody cheek to charge me.0 -
I signed up for Amazon's free trial of Prime a couple of months ago. I forgot to cancel it before I was charged. I was quite prepared to write it off as my own error, so I went onto my account settings and cancelled it, so that I didn't end up with a second charge. I received an e-mail from Amazon shortly afterwards advising that they were refunding my subscription as I hadn't used the service. I was actually really impressed.0
