  • Mine have to be:
Bare Minerals Foundation - Only one I;ve ever found that stays put all day for me
Maybelline Studio Gel liner - Only product I have EVER used that allows be to get elegant cat flicks rather than one good eye and one smudgy mess
Blistex Tinted Lip Balm - Don't like lipstick but this is lush
    Maybelline Great Lash Mascara
Neutrogena concentrated quick absorb hand cream

Totally agree with the Maybelline Gel Liner - I bought it to replace my beloved MAC Blacktrack Fluidline and I can't believe that a product so much cheaper is better - I love it!

I've got sensitive combination skin which gets a bit spotty at the jaw sometimes. I'm 28 and have been using Boots Time Delay Wrinkle Prevention for a few years. Its very cheap when on offer and better for me then everything else I've tried - Clinique 3 step, Lancome, Estee Lauder, Dermalogica, Elemis, Clarins, Liz Earle - oh and The Pill, Prescribed Creams, Cathiodermy you name it, I've tried it! I also like the Olay Sensitive Wrinkle Prevention Night Cream - its brilliant.

Seche Vite top coat is the best I've tried - it gives a professional look and as a result I never get my nails done professionally (ok, maybe once every three years or so!). OPI Nail Envy also works wonders.

Witch Hazel. Shrinks pores, brightens my skin - literally the only thing that has shrunk my pores without irritating my skin.

Vaseline - on lips (love the tinted one!), eyelashes, eyebrows.

Taking a good multi-vitamin and drinking lots of water is one of my best tips though. I take a multi-vit with added folic acid and I believe this helps my hair and nails grow long and healthy.

I need a new mascara as my old one (apparently) is probably full of bacteria as I've had it soo long! Could someone recommend a really good (though hopefully as inexpensive as possible <£10) black mascara? Thanks in advance.

Brill and only about a fiver or so.

    Happy days!

My favourite was always Lancome Hynose but it is SO expensive. After doing my research I found that Max Factor mascaras get excellent reviews and having tried the usual Maybelline and Loreal ones I decided to give it a shot. I use Max Factor False Lash Effect and its OUTSTANDING - I prefer it to the Lancome one now. The Max Factor Masterpiece one also gets 5* reviews. The products are regularly on offer at Boots and Superdrug.

Thanks Miss, I've opted for a Benefit 'They're Real' Mascara. It's got good reviews so fingers crossed. I paid a bit more than I intended to spend mind you - £15.45, that's including delivery.

  • I adore REN skincare stuff but am on the hunt for cheaper (see other thread!). I utterly adore their Rose bath oil but that is firmly in the once in a blue moon category!

MAC foundation every time - Pro Longwear.

Aldi concealer -a Touche Eclat type of affair at about a tenth of the price. Absolutely amazing.

Aldi hand cream, about 80p a tube and brilliant.

Brilliant Brunette shampoo/conditioner (the ones in the silver tubes)

The Sanctuary bath foam and bath soak. Love their body butter and hand wash too - I stocked up on some bath stuff in the 50% off gift boxes sale, as I had completely run out!

Nail varnish - my top tip is the NYC quick drying ones. Normally on a multibuy offer in Superdrug, great colours and really long lasting. I like Rimmel too but NYC is cheaper

Thanks for the tip on C2000 mascara - I need to replace mine so will give this a whirl!

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm is a product I adore, I have tried lower cost alternatives however nothing has measured up and I use so little that it lasts ages. Also if you shop around you can get it at a more affordable price.

Tescos own brand coconut shampoo leave my hair soft and wonderfully shiny, in fact the cheaper the shampoo the better my hair seems to look!

Estee Lauder skin care. Again over the years I have tried many many different brands from under a pound to much more and I always come back to this it leaves my skin glowing.

No 7 foundation has become a recent favourite and it is affordable, long lasting and the colour match gadget was wonderful. I am also coming round to their makeup.

Vaseline is great for keeping lips moisturised.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!

    Benefit hi- beam highlighter
Benefit Hoopla blusher -great browny shade so different - high pigment you don't need much
    Bobby brown lip balm
Moroccan oil-good for taming thick hair or if you haven't time to straighten it
Boots sanctuary Mande lula body moisturiser
    Waitrose basic toner
    Boots botanics cleanser
Like Lancôme hypnosis mascara too but too expensive
Use anything now but brush with a seperate mascara brush between coats to prevent clumping

Maybelline Illegal Lengths mascara - lashes look much fuller and longer and it doesn't shift through the day

MUA bronzer (£1) used as a blusher. I use the lightest shade just to warm up my complexion - cheap and lasts forever.

Sudocrem - great for spots, rough patches, cuts and grazes, anything really.

Argan Oil - the only thing that tames my thick frizzy hair.

Colorsport Eyelash Dye - a recent discovery used on my greying eyebrows. I didn't realise how much difference it would make to my whole face!
