Delayed both ways then missed fconnecting flight

Hi can anyone give me some information on flight detays
I was going to florida and was delayed 6 hours on the way out ,
then on return my flight got delayed then rerouted which caused a nother 6 hour delay ,then because of the 6 hour delay missed connecting flight and had to pay for connecting flights again what would I be entilled to claim for . Delays for one way or both ways , cost for connecting flights?
This was in july 2008 flying from Gatwick to Florida .
Also were could I find flight details as I do not have the tickets anymore.

Many thanks in advance

My main advice would be to move on with your life after 4.5 years. If you decide against this and insist on pursuing compensation, you'd need to find out about the reason for the delay. If you don't know what flight you were on, that'll be hard to do though if you know the day you flew, the airline, and the approximate time, you'll be able to find flightnumbers on Flightstats. If if it was a non-EU airline you'll have no claim for compensation for the inbound flight delay and if you were on separate tickets for your connection you'll have no claim against the loss incurred as a result of missing it either way.
