changing into uniform at work

Sorry OP, I agree with the majority too. When I worked in the NHS I always had to arrive a good 15-20 minutes before I oficially started, to have time to change into uniform, get to the ward and so on.
Leaving late was also part of the job and my travel time was 40-60 minutes each way, so 5 minutes really doesn't seem like a big deal. Change is hard, but in this case I think you just have to grin and bear it.[FONT="][FONT="] Fighting the biggest battle of my life.Started 30th January 2018.

Totally agree, it must depend on the trust or department. Where I worked it was a disciplinary offence.[FONT="][FONT="] Fighting the biggest battle of my life.Started 30th January 2018.

Different Jobs and different people have different requirements. I used to work on a production line where you had to be changed and on station so the person in front of you could go home. No one ever complained. My next job was also a production line where the union negotiated 4 mins extra pay for change over time, and everyone complained it wasn't enough.
Where I am now most people were pretty flexible until the management turned anal. After I got pulled for 9 seconds too long for a break I started clocking in dead on time and I clock out within seconds of my finish time. Thats just how my job is now.
So, lots of sympathy for the OP but I'm afraid you're stuck with the current situation.

you could make sure that what you wear into work allows for very speedy change. dont waste time taking off jewellery by not wearing in first place. have hair already up when you arrive. dont do anything work related until you are clocked in!Teamwork means.......never having to take all the blame yourself0

Welcome to the world of work op. The nhs is aware it gets thousands of hours of free staff time. Many come in early, leave late, don't take coffee breaks or lunch breaks. Thats life in the caring profession - and i add many other professions as well. You are well within your rights to work to rule but you could make yourself very unpopular. This is obviously something concerns you greatly and all problems are relative to the individual, but having a permenant contract in a profession where there will always be jobs is something you should be grateful for.0

I work in care industry and we are not allowed to wear tunic outside of home, no jewellery, hair tied up etc.
So in the morning I don't put any jewellery on, tie my hair up etc. Then when I get to work it literally takes 1 min take my coat and jumper off and put my tunic on.0
