Help netbook has a virus

Im not very techie so bare with me.

started with facebook- dodgy ad on my fb wall and other freinds not sure if me or others can see them-thourht must be fb fault.

But on here now my posts and others have underlined blue words the hover over and pop up advert appears.

Happens on other sites clink on links that look like genuine links and leads me to adverts.

what have i done?
how do I clear it.

driving me mad now

tried shutting down starting again.

have malwayres antibtes running full scan now.

Do the ads come up as TextEnhance?

What browser do you use?

currently on google chrome.
also have safari and not sure same problem dont think I do.

yes enhanced and underlined in blue words like

debt
payday.
blender

The dodgy fb ads with women saying call me.
other links take me to white page with red saying visitor survey it hovers over stuff want to read and click on

Could be a rogue extension that has been inadvertently installed

Try clicking on the menu button to right of address bar in Chrome.
Select Settings
Click on Extension (on left)

If it's taking a long time, do a quick scan. If something's there, the quick scan should pick it up.

I agree with AlecEiffel - If it's affecting chrome it's likely a rogue extension.

I would say to start with download AVG and malwarebytes as listed above, restart your laptop in safe mode, normally done by pressing F8 on start up. Install them both then scan with both, again in Safe Mode and see if that does the trick.

Don't download another antivirus (AVG), if you already have an antivirus installed.

General rule - You shouldn't run more than one antivirus.

As for MBAM, it's optimised to be at it's best in normal mode - not safe mode.

Should mbam ever not start in normal mode due to infection - use it's chameleon technology.

Just go to Chrome Web Store and download a couple of free ad blockers - Adsweep and Adblock Plus. I got them and my surfing is 99% ad free.

That won't fix the underlying problem if the cause is a rogue extension .
