Sky F1

Options
Hi,

I guess this must of been asked last F1 season but will start again incase anything has changed.

In short, I don't have Sky (don't want it) but I do want to be able to watch the F1 races not shown live on BBC.

My sister has the basic Sky package (no films or sport) and she doesn't have a HD TV.

I have an iPad and have one of her Sky Go log-ins, so I have access to the basic Sky Go service.

I want to know the cheapest way for me to be able to watch Sky F1 (discounting going down the pub or a mates house), is it cheapest to pay for her to upgrade, pay extra for F1 on Sky Go direct etc.

I have found a couple of web sites that I can kind of watch it for free but the quality of the picture is very poor...

Cheers

The easiest way is probably for your Sister to add the HD channels package to her account. The F1 HD channel will then appear on her Sky Go account.
    It costs £10.25 a month.

It's worth checking that the F1 channel is still going to be included in the package this year - I'd hate for you to sign up, only for Sky to pull a fast one!
  • We got a flyer through with an offer to upgrade to sky hd for £2.50 a month, might be worth seeing if they got the offer through the post or just give them a ring and ask. Was looking at doing this to get get the f1

You get the F1 channel with EITHER:
the HD pack (normal price £10.25)
    and/or
a sports pack of at least Sky Sports 1 & 2.
If you've already got the standard £20 pack like your sister has, it'll be an extra £10.25 before any offers are taken into account. Having an HDTV has no bearing on whether you can have the HD pack or not, but I would guess they would want to change her Sky+ box to a Sky+HD box if she doesn't already have one.
