Shocked whats on Noddle

Just to clarify, when I referred to compensation in my first post, I was mainly referring to a goodwill gesture (or what the FOS refer to as a payment for 'distress and inconvenience') - I'm not the sort to advocate suing for everything and anything, but in this case, I do believe the FOS would make an award as it's not only distressing but will cause a large amount of inconvenience in getting sorted.0

Now that I've had 24 hours to calm down and have taken in all the information from various sources I want to let everyone know what my actions/feeling are:
Step 1
Formal complain to Active Securities Ltd
I am going to demand this entry and any other entries made on credit refence files in the UK are removed immediately, and they will confirm in writting that they have complied. To identify the person responsible to the police who are carrying out the investigation so they can be held accountable for their actions.
I will be seeking a substantial financial redress from them, this would include to write off any liability they claim to have on any accounts owing and a (£) amount for for it's unprofessional, threatening conduct and for the stress, time and trouble this unbelievable conduct has caused me.
(Thanks TSx for the info)
Step 2
Formal complain to Noddle/CallCredit
I am going to demand that they confirm in writting how this information was allowed to added to my creditfile? The entry is in breach of the Data Protection Act and as such I will be seeking financial redress from them also.
I've read everyones comments and thankyou for spending your time to help me.
I know that some will disagree with what I've posted above and thats fine were all entitled to an opinion. At first this wasn't the direction I was going to take but, now I've had some time to think about things and calmed down a little from yesterday. I hope to take these companys to task and if it hurts them a little then maybe it could make them think twice about it happening again.
Maybe it was a staff member, but what companys fully trust there staff, most companys have audits or processes to check on the quanity and quality of their employees work.
To those that that will think theres no claim because I suffered no financial loss, I have suffered losses but only a little at the moment a day & 1/2 wages. I took the afternoon off work yesterday and have had to take today off to sort the mess out. It is possible that in the future I may need days/time off for police statements, court appearances. I have no idea how far the police will take it..
As I thanked TSx for earier the FOS have guidelines and procedures in place to compensate people who have been in this position like me.~ LBM - July 2012 ~

For what it's worth I think you are doing the right thing.
As for compensation, I believe it is bull to say there should only be compensation for financial loss. You are entitled to redress for you pain /suffering and distress even though I admit that is a double standard for me as I hate this where's there blame there's a claim culture0 -
Glad to see you are getting it sorted. Keep us updated. I am entrigued to find out how this ends.0

I think your doing the right thing. If someone else thinks different, so what? It's your decision not theirs.
Do not let them get away with this, and screw them for every penny you can get.I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

I also hate the 'where there is blame there is a claim' culture but you have to admit this is different.
If someone climbs a ladder they shouldnt be and falls and seeks compensation then no that in my eyes is wrong - it was their own stupid fault.
This gentleman has not suffered financially - he is already suffering financially hence going to that company in the first place.
Why shouldn't he receive any type of financial compensation? I bet the company he used has made a few quid out of him.
Good luck to you.0 -
Jesus, can't believe that. Good luck with it. Personally, given the type of business they are, I agree with the OP seeking financial redress, frankly with some profit-oriented companies, it's the only way to make it hit home.On the up

I think you are doing the right thing too. Like you say it may stop the same thing happening to someone else. If it had been me i'd have been very scared. What happens if the person whose file they had put that on had mental health problems? It may have been a stupid throwaway comment by a very stupid member of staff but lets just imagine that the person on the receiving end was at their wits end with debt they could have been suicidal and the results couldbe catastrophic.0
