It's a shame that some people immediately see this type of thing, and think COMPENSATION! What a truy pathetic attitude.

    Why?
Its a money saving forum, this guy has been harrased, surely he should be compensated by some jumped up loan company?

I started a thread at the consumeractiongroup as well as I panicked when I saw it:

    Update:

I have spoken to the OFT and they advised me to email in a complaint and they will look at it and for me to contact the ICO

I contacted the ICO and they advised me that whilst it was disturbing there was anything they could do? Just advised me to get everything in writing.

The police have just been back in touch and there going to call Active Securities to see what they have to say and they asked me to advise them what Noddle / Callcredit have to say when they get in touch.

He's incurred no financial loss due to this, that's why.

Firstly I'd call the Police. That's a threat, in black and white.

Then I would complain to every ombudsman involved. FOS, OFT and ICO. Send them your screen shot.

Then I'd write to every national newspaper to see if any would be interested in the story.

Compo? Nah. Not unless they offered something by way of goodwill.
  • Maybe they will agree to remove the default, that would be just as good compensation.

  • Have you checked what it says on Experian or Equifax?

Clearly its not a mistake it is malicious and was knowingly put there.

Its a threat. Its a personal threat made by a private company against a perfectly law abiding individual over a civil matter. I would expect a serious GWG to cover the anxiety involved.

For those saying that it shouldnt come down to compensation, I completely disagree. Compensation in this context will amount to a fine against the company, the person involved removed from their position and the person who was threatened given some sort of monetary recognition of his trouble and the totally unprofessional behaviour of the company representative.

If people actually complained against these companies for their unscrupulous behaviour, they would be forced to pull their socks up. No one, regardless of circumstances should be forced to endure a direct personal and public threat such as that and the Company concerned should be reprimanded - publically.

I've just registered with Noddle to check my credit file out and couldn't quite believe what I saw:

I'm going to hit the "something wrong" button, but surely they shouldn't be able to post stuff like that on there?

And just because I''ve got some finacial problems they shouldn't be able to threaten my life. just shows what low life scum were dealing with.
OMFG!!! that is not only criminal, it is a grotesque breach of the Data Protection Act 1998.

They are not entitled to make such entries on your credit file.

I would get copies of all your credit reports and also get details of the number of times which they had been viewed.

    Shocking

I reckon that ought to give you enough damages there to clear the debt, certainly that would make the relationship unfair under s140A consumer Credit Act and id be pretty confident the court would write off the debt
