Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 22nd January 2013 - . This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning Kezlou and all,
yep i'm up early too. Dogs got me up and the bed is bound to be cold now. However, i'm still going to persevere with going back to bed i think.
Well the inevitable has happened. Ive given MrJudi my cold. He's not very happy. He says he feels to ill to work and too ill to drive home. I am suprised he caught my cold though as we spent most of the weekend in seperate rooms. Mind you, it would have helped if he had fed himself. I tried leaving him to feed himself last weekend and he had two peices of toast all day as he couldnt be arsed. Our son lived on cereal for three days too.
Jobs for today:
Wrap ebay stuff and take to the post office

Good morning early birds ,chilly morning this morning but no snow thank goodness.School run this morning as the schools are open again.DD Tessa loved her new job and said her new work friends are a really nice bunch and she gets on well with the manager.Seems as though its just what she wanted. She has Thursdays off as she will work on Saturdays and only one Sunday a month which is great So I will do the school run before and after school, and have Thursdays off, which is nice so I can catch up on shopping or housework.
My builder finishes today and I am really pleased at what a great job he has done . he will be back again soon thougfh as I want him for some decorating on the Hall and stairs which he said he will do for me,also I am going to get him to fit a new sink and taps for tessa as her's has got a crack in which seeps water slightly and is as old as the hills.Thats my treat to her instead of an easter Egg:):)
Today after the school trip I shall be having a good turn out of junk that is the detrius of the old bathroom which was dumped into the conservatory out of the way.Its either going to the tip or salvagable stuff will go to the charity shop, ornaments etc, so its going to be a busy day
Keep wrapped up warm chums its a bit parky out there
Cheers JackieO xxx0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Still dark here this morning, but no new snowfall yesterday or during the night, but temperature was due to drop so roads likely to be icy.
DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was fish, chips/jacket pot. beans/veg. Tonight will be smoked sausage pasta with creme fraiche sauce.
Boys school should be open today - but will check website shortly - DS1 got to go anyway as he has an exam. Will take them on my way to work and then they can walk home - roads/paths not safe enough to ride bikes.
We thought work would be quiet yesterday but we were surprised as we were continously busy - but not horrendous, made the day pass quickly though! We'll see what today brings - would like another busy day - I'd much rather be busy all day than not having enough to do.
Keep safe and well, take it steady x

Morning all, some more snow in the early hours so school is closed today. Jack, Loki and I had a snowy walk. Will do some schoolwork, decluttering and sewing today. WM needs to go on and then might chill with a book;)
Hugs to all in need esp Molly, LW and Jools Candygirl hope your mum is ok , sad about her friend but at last she is at peace.
Healing vibes for all poorly people and pets. JackieO, glad Tess enjoyed her first day and I'm sure she'd rather have a new sink than an Easter egg. Have a good day all and stay safe and warm:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

Morning all,
Busy day y/day looking after DGD2 & 3 whilst DD2 did her big shop so I didn't get on here. Today I need to sort through their toys as my study is turning into Hammlees.
DSiL is coming to today and will stay overnight, she has been at her DDs in Bath since her DH died. I'm looking forward to her visit but I know there will be tears. She was married to my late younger DB then got married to a lovely man on Dec 10th, he had the big C but was told with treatment he could have 6-12mths. I'm going to spoil her so I am cooking fillet steak, jackets, mushrooms, toms, onions and peas for dinner. I'll make sticky toffee pud later. Lots of vino is a must.
Need to vacume upstairs, bit of ironing to do and swish bathrooms and kitchen before she gets here.
CANDY, sorry about your DM's friend. What a great friend your DM was to her. ((hugs))
Stay warm and well everyone.0 -
Morning all,
No more snow here, just the remnants on the ground now, which has frozen solid.
Taking dd to work this morning, then home, quick tidy round, its not too bad as I did it yesterday, then pop and see dad, this afternoon I shall prep the dinner, then sit for an hour an do nothing but read
Bought a 1/2 leg of lamb yesterday which was on offer at the butchers, had a roast last night, and will do mash and veg tonight, it was really tasty.
Got the wm on the go, which will have to go on the airer.
Have good days all xx0 -

Morning All
Been out this morning for the first time since Friday. Only had one slice of bread left, so got a loaf and came back. It's cold out there!:snow_laug
Nothing on for me today again. I think I've tidied and rearranged every cupboard in the house:rotfl:
I have started the AF diet (Fasting on two days a week) weighed myself this morning and have lost another 2lb! Down from 12stone 2lb to 11stone 8lb. It's easy to do, although I did feel a bit hungry at first, hopefully will train myself to it soon. It works, that's the main thing!:T
Dinner today is mince, veg and new potatoes.
DD saw the midwife yesterday. They think it will be a big baby. They have revised her date too. 29thy August, which is my OH's birthday. Wouldn't that be lovekly? DGD shares my birthday, new baby may share OH's!:T
Stay warm and have a good day.I Believe in saving money!!!:T
