Breakdown cover for 12 year old car.

I thought it was the person that was covered not the car? I've been an RAC member for years now and almost always with a 10yrs+ old car (infact 20yrs+ the last few years) and I can call for assistance no matter what car I'm in, but there is a limit on the amount of call outs per year in the T&Cs. If you have no call outs then the cost the next year decreases.
But since my cover is Roadside, Recovery and At Home I don't suppose I've ever had to question the age restriction if it only applies to normal roadside cover?0 -
ASDA breakdown cover were offering me it for £25 end of last year on my 11 year old car.0

Try Autoaid. You have to pay in advance and claim back but it's very quick. Your wife/husband gets free cover. It's on the person too, not car. Sure it's about £30 for both people.
I've just done this as my daily commuter hit 17 this year and the premium rocketed to £162
£38 for AutoAid so worth a go I thought. No restrictions at all. Even covered when towing. It is you that is covered not the car too I believe. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
I am with Britannia rescue. My car is 14 years old.0

Get RAC cover for yourself, not the car. My wife has had no problem with the RAC coming out to her in her 17 year old Mitsubishi FTO when she has broken down and I had them come out to both my 1985 Capri and my fathers 1960s Morris Minor when it broke down.0

I am looking for the cheapest solution to get cover for a 12 year old car which has two drivers. Both the AA and RAC only accept cars under 10 years currently.
The cheapest way I can see currently is to get both myself and my wife through AA and claim the cash back which should cost us £24.
Car is still reliable only done 60K, never had any breakdown issues yet.
thank you.
I'm with Quoteline Direct - £59 all in, including home start, onward travel, European cover etc. Covers cars up to 16 years old.
I've had to call them out twice for mechanical issues, and my dad (who is also with them on his car) has had them out once when his key disintegrated. Found the service to be excellent every time.
The cover is on the car, so if your car has two drivers it would suit.
Can't fault it for £59 - some providers have lower prices at first glance but don't include some of the features (e.g. Europe).0
