Tesco dog food-wrong contents

We bought Tesco's own dog food, chicken chunks. On opening it we found it was a solid somewhat fishy smelling food with no chunks. Another can we bought at the same time had the correct contents.
What should we do? I have had nothing but rudeness when I have tried to complain in person about another mislabeling and an inadequate response when I phoned.

I wouldnt even moan about it, just take it back and ask them to replace that tin if customer services wont exchange it ask to speak to the manager. Or just put in down to experience.

How much chicken did the ingredients claim was inside the tin? 4%?

Did it actually say Superchunks with Chicken? It doesn't mean it is all chicken or the same chicken as another tin/batch it just means is has a bit of chicken in it.

The other 96% of the tin can be made up from anything else incuding horse, fish anything....under the ingredient "meat and animal deriveratives."

One can with the same label had the correct contents; the other can had contents that are clearly not those on the label. The factory must be wrongly labeling food. It is a health issue. What food for human consumption is actually pet food?
I don't want my money back I want Tesco's to be held to account publicly.

If it contains 4% chicken as the label says then it's labelled correctly even if one batch had 96% rusk/pork/beef/poultry and the other batch had 96% rusk/horse/rabbit/fish...

    Why ?

Tescos don't make the dog food.

Take it back to Tescos, accept a refund. The move on.

Would you be quite as sanguine if you opened a can of, say, tuna fish and found it contained dog food?
As I have tried to explain: the contents of the mislabeled can have unknown contents with a fishy smell. It may be a different dog food but it is certainly not that as advertised.
I appreciate the philosophical comments about moving on; both Pickfords and the Dalai Lama offered me similar advice. When I told his holiness that it was a chance to get at those wretched multinational companies that trample on indigenous peoples' rights he saw my point: "We don't want them opening a branch in Lhasa!"

    "

In that scenario they would definitely feed it to the dog.

Wrong labelling may seem a trivial matter to some especially when it's pet food but it can have serious consequences.
I have to be very careful that my dog does not eat anything that contains fish.
If she eats fish it causes her to have dermatitis and severe diarrhea.
