New Sort by End Date function

What a mess, we are no longer permitted to put "E: whatever" in title you have to post without E:, no warning no transition just done! You can post if you put prize title only and select end date from the menu!

why did we need this? All you needed to do was go to the bottom, click to order by "thread title" and that sorted it into date order?

Why do people feel they have to continually mess with things that work perfectly well as they are? :mad:

Going to be really tricky to spot all the one day comps, (e.g. Fridays) when you have to squint at the tiny end date below.
And no, it's not my granny failing eyesight !

Just tried to use the "clever" end date sorting button and it doesn't work. Brilliant. So no doubt we'll all miss hundreds of competitions because of the changes. Thanks MSE.

Does not work for me either I should say the influx of non-regular users from a now defunct site has brought about these ridiculous and un-necessary changes so they can fit in with their comping ideals!

Im an end date comper. The end of the month is normally manic for us compers so at the end of the evening I will search for the comps posted the last day and do from 31st of any month - 27th of any month. The always show up in date order on the first few pages. On the old search I would get:

E:31/07 Page 1
E:30/06 Page 2 etc

Using the new search on comps from the last day by the end date (to tackle end of the months). This is what I get:

E: 31/01 Page 1
E: 28/02 Page 8
E: 31/03 Page 11
E: 31/07 Page 12

It just seems now I need to jump from one end of the board to the other and it looks like its going to be a bit of a hassle to find these comps.

It wasn't broken, the old E: dd/mm worked. Why, oh why did they want to 'fix' it, and messed it up.

Always comp by end date and that used to show the ones ending today that have been most recently posted.
Like Twitter comps?
Tried the new 'sort by end date' and they are all lumped together?
How can I find comps posted today that end today? anyone please.

Now gone in to search for FB comps ending tomorrow. No 'sort by end date' in the columns!! This is totally broken.
The reason this forum is so good is because it works by the contributions of the wonderful members. No wages to pay unlike one site that had become subscription only and another where the administrators were overwhelmed and another that publicises spammy comps. Please let's not ruin MSE.

I know I've only been comping for just over a week and a half, but I've been using a combination of the end date tool as well as looking at titles. It just makes it so clearer to see what ends and when if the date, (and time in some cases), is in the title...so I'm a bit disappointed by this
