And it's not just protecting people from verbal abuse. It's protecting the many people who fall for this and get robbed in the process."Some folks are wise and some are otherwise." - Tobias Smollett0

ahh, but booler that would mean the police would actually have to work for their hard earned money, instead of sitting around in the office and doing paperwork, or pulling people over in there cars for not wearing their seatbelts "due to it being unsafe", weird one happened to me, taxi stops and reverse's towards you to make you stop so the police can pull YOU over and charge you for not wearing a seat belt, but doesnt do anything about the taxi. maybe I should have gone into the back of it mind you the customer in the passenger seat might not have liked it, after all it was reversing towards me, their was only about 12inches by the time i had stopped, speed + reaction + stopping distance = gap left.
wonder how I would explain that to the insurance company though IF i had.
I drove into a taxi that was reversing on a dual carriage way, with a police van behind me.
Yet whilst talking to you people are going by in their cars on their phones talking, and telling you how dangerous it is NOT wearing a seatbelt.
My reply "its a lot more dangerous using a mobile phone whilst driving, at least whilst i'm not wearing a belt it doesnt take my concentration of the road and other users."
15years no accidents and touch wood many more years to come, not that makes my insurance go down.
and 10 of those NOT wearing a seatbelt.
And i too had the same phone call, but i was told it was when I had installed windows.
how do they get your info. easy. virgin media use indian call centres, these people copy data from the system and sell / supply it to their friends "scammers" which is how they know your name, phone numbers, house number and postcode and that you have broadband so therefore you have a computer, forgetting of course people could just have a xbox / playstation etc. or a mobile phone which uses wireless.0
