I'm not sure the letter is in his name, he signs on but they base it on my low earnings.

When we applied for free school meals this was accepted as the job centre said its IbJSA. The workigs out in the letter mention income based & contribution based but its not that clear

I am assuming you get cont based with income top up (because they disregard £5 earnings), lucky you are on limit.

Problem is FSM are counted on income (regardless of previous earnings) ctc are not.

What I am not 100% on is this

If TC need FULL income related to give full award ( ie income only) and some hit it lucky and were awarded anyway, or if they ARE entitled but system can't work it out.

All you can do is keep trying.

Please do it helps to advise others in same situation - people don't often update so we know final outcome

ok so explained to HMRC the details. She asked me the basic questions, age, hours of work, children etc but not what we have earned this year and she said 'yes' I am entitled to £113 a week CTC and will send out a claim form to me, which will take 2 weeks to arrive once they receive it back they will only backdate it 31 days from when they receive it back, which is so unfair as the IbJSA ALLOWANCE CLAIM STARTED ON THE 8th Dec! I have their complaints address but doubt i'll get it backdated to then!!

I said to the lady that I have phoned a couple of times requesting this but she said it doesn't change anything and was quite unhelpful.

so it may not get here until the 5th Feb, then allowing another 2 weeks for it to be opened and actioned it could be the 19th Feb before I get the money and only backdated to the 18th Jan. causing me to miss 8th Dec - 18th Jan - 41 days!! six weeks = £678 aprox money we could have done with!!

Hubby has said he may have 5 days of temporary work coming up but we dont know yet?
if he gets the work as its over 16 hours he will have to close his JSA claim and open another one after the work if finished.

But how would that effect the CTC. Would he loose one week CTC/one month/?

And then theirs the free school meals...

Not sure TBH - Sorry but the least is 1 week and that's what I'd expect but don't take as gospel.
