FirstSave - Fixed rate Bonds - Loyalty rates

Options
I have a one year 3.5% maturing in a month or so, so am looking at where to put the funds (£10k).

I see from the website that they offer 'Fixed rate Loyalty Bonds' for 'maturing FirstSave Fixed Rate Bond account holders'.

I've compared the rates from the non loyalty account to the 'non loyalty' accounts and they seem to be the same (am comparing the two year as thats the only one which is available whether being a new or 'loyal' customer).

Am I, once again, being dafter than normal in that the loyalty account is being offered at the same rate as the 'new' account?

Seems to be that the 1yr Loyalty Bond is not available to new customers. But the 2yr LB and the 2yr bond, available to new customers are exactly the same! Or are we both dafter than usual? :)

  • Seems FirstSave have removed a swathe of accounts and are also reducing the interest rates on the 1 and 2 year loyalty bonds from 2.3% and 2.75% to 2.15% and 2.6% respectively (all Gross rate p.a) from 11/3/13.
